'Superhero Workout' Still Good?

Hi CT (and everyone else),

I’ve read this website on and off for what must be nearly 2 years now, all the while intermittently going to the gym / drinking my way through university. I’ve always enjoyed reading your posts CT and really love snatch high pulls now!

Now I don’t like what I see when looking in the mirror.

I want to lose fat, but gain muscle/strength (that age old thing eh), and finally getting my diet into check which should help a lot.

Stats:

Male, 23
6 foot tall
Pretty much 100kgs
33% body fat according to some household scales my housemate has, Karadascan? (I’m aware although this number may not be accurate at least if it goes up and down I can take it as a rough baseline)

I’ve started at a new gym which has ropes, rings, prowlers and the rest and have been enjoying it.

I have found this routine http://www.T-Nation.com/portal_includes/articles/2006/06-021B-training.html which seems to be a few years old now. If i add in conditioning sessions with farmers walks and prowlers would this be sufficient? Or would there be a more ‘ideal’ routine to follow. I know that at the minute I just need to get more active again anyway.

Sorry for the babbling, just kept typing!

Still good? The human body hasn’t changed much in 2 years.

I wouldn’t do any conditioning work on top of the superhero routine, at least for the first 2-3 weeks. It’s VERY hard work if you aren’t used to it. Use the conditioning work only if you handle the base volume well and only if fat loss stalls.

Thanks Ct on the swift reply. About to head to the gym right now to start!

Not a believer in evolution??

Mate, you are just wasting your time…the routine is out of date will now cause atrophy due to an unfortunate star alignment
