Super Totals (Olympic + Power Lifts)

Actually Koing, I could clean a LOT more if it was not for my old creaky brittle wrist joints. I high pull over 140 to my upper chest fairly routine, but I cant rack it.

like crow said…to be young fat and strong again…sigh.

ps, all my OL numbers posted are the power versions I cant do the full versions due to flexibility issues.

and because i just plain suck in general.

Fun thread.

Snatch 110
Clean and Jerk 152
Bench 155
Squat 225
Deadlift 275

bodyweight of 112

Misha has to OWN the all time total for this stat.

snatch 200

c&J 240

SQ 400+

BP 250+

DL 400+

misha has done 210 and 245 in a russian national competition before. cleaning 253 very easily only to miss the jerk.

ya, just did a quick search and saw that.

here is a vid of him doing some insane things, all the same session

Hi Guys. I know its been long since this thread “died”, but after some discussions in our gym and somebody mentioning a “super total”, I googled it and found this thread.

Me and my brother are lifetime strength athletes, with him being more of a power lifter and me more of a weightlifter/athlete, so this “super total” might settle some longstanding disagreements we’ve had!

My best lifts over the last year or so (at almost 150kg body weight) is :
bench : 205kg (with no gear, narrow grip and no spotter help at all)
squat : 285kg (only belt and knee wraps and very deep - passed in an IPF competition)
dl : 355kg (strapped but no suit)
clean : 205kg (power clean but without a jerk - I’ve back jerked around 185kg many years ago when I still did it)
snatch : 130kg x 2 (also many years ago. only did it once in the last few years and did about 120kg x 1)

My brother has lifts of :
Bench : around 275kg (about 235kg raw this year)
Squat : 460kg (full powerlifting gear at an ipf comp
dl : about 325kg in comp
c&j and snatch he’s never really done but I’m sure it won’t be much more than 140kg and 80kg respectively.

Who’s the best in your opinions?

BTW, I can point you to video’s on the internet to back up almost all the lifts I talk about above - for incase somebody think I’m talking through my arse!

What’s best, an apple or an orange?

You really want to settle it, sit down with your brother, and pick a date. Make it 4 weeks away, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, tomorrow, whatever, just pick a day. Come to a decision on what gear is allowed (suits, belts, wraps, RAAAAAWWWWW, whatever, up to you). Then have your supertotal competition on that day. Plan for it to be a whole day affair, three attempts per lift, something like:

Squat-10am
Snatch-noon
Bench-2pm
Clean and Jerk-4pm
Deadlift-6pm

When you sit down to hash out the details make sure you figure out how you want to manage the time between attempts and whatnot. Get some friends together who can act as spotters and judges. Tape the whole thing and post it here. Hell I might do it with you, if my summer schedule permits. We can have a little internet competition, that’d be kinda cool.

Also, what does your brother weigh? We could have an adjusted supertotal where you add your wilkes (did I get that right?) for the three powerlifts and your sinclair for the two oly lifts.

I second this, sounds like an awesome idea for settling things once and for all! Would make a pretty cool video as well so to the OP be sure to post it if you go through with it

Since this has come alive again…
Snatch 100
Clean&jerk 135
Bench 145 (embarrassing for an oly lifter)
Squat 180 (Atg)
DL 215 (at 97 Kg bw)

BW 90kg

I’ll go again :stuck_out_tongue:

Sn 130
CJ 158
Bench 130 this year, 135 was about 2yrs ago?
Squat: 185 FS, 0kg BS this year. i have literally done NO BACK SQUATS this year…
DL: 0kg this year, I Sn DL 165kg this year, no Cn DL

Bw 93.5 > 98.5kg now

My snatch sucks. I also couldn’t train it for about 2 months because I injured my wrist. I’ve really gotta start hitting it hard if I’m ever gonna do 100. I can also jerk 125 from the rack, but I can’t clean it. And I can power squat 200. I like this thread.[/quote]

I’ve made pretty good progress since I wrote this abouttt 15 months ago.

Sn- 110
CJ- 130
Squat- 205
Bench- 125
DL- 250

Bw- usually 72

Also done a 141 rack jerk.

I think you should add in some back squats and heavy DL’s =)
I’ve started doing some snatch grip DL’s because I have a habit of letting my hips shoot up too fast on max snatches.

My brother weighs about 178kg at the moment. He did a 345kg deep RAW squat last week and plans to do about 375kg raw in about a month’s time at our nationals. He weighed about 186kg when he did his 460kg squat 4 years ago. BTW, he’s 42 years old now.

I’ll see if I can convince him to do the super comp against me and will let you guys know!

That’s good progress, well done! Do I understand right that you remained at the same bodyweight while gaining about 20% in power?

so after seeing the forum i have decided to max out in powerlifts
squat back (high bar) 300lbs 136kg
dl-355 162kg
bench 205lbs 92.5kg
snatch 75kg
clean and jerk 95kg
needless to say after maxing out on deadlift i couldnt train today. havent done them in yrs. bw 70kg at the moment

Yeah, man. Actually, over the next year or so from the time I wrote that first post I went up from about 72-73kg to 77-78. Then a few months ago I jacked my squatting frequency way up and have since leaned out considerably (I now weigh less than I did the time I wrote the first post 15 months ago) while getting stronger on some lifts and not losing any strength on others. Good trade off, imo. I’m aiming for a 2x bw C&J. Hit a 1.5x bw snatch about a week or so ago.

You and your brother are tanks by the way. Keep wrecking shit.

Very well done. Managing to be much stronger but weighing less is the ultimate achievement in weightlifting progress. Luckily my sport (shot put) never needed me to be very lean, so I can be a bit lazy about my diet!
