Super Accumulation, The Poliquin Method

I’m seriously thinking about starting the SUPER ACCUMULATION program , for those who don’t know it’s about overtraining the body to the extreme for 2 weeks and then if you survive  take 5 days off, all this with the aim of overcoming plateaus, has ANYONE done it? used ?
I am going to leave the training that I intend to follow here so that they review it and I am going to make a record day by day

I’ve done it a few times by accident. I’m not an advanced lifter so it’s not terribly hard to go beyond the “maximum recoverable volume” concept.

Usually in my case I end up with a sinus infection or f’n Covid and I’m forced to take a couple weeks off.

Honestly I’m not sure I’d try to weaponize this concept. It’s one thing to push your boundaries, it’s another thing altogether to intentionally go into the extreme. It’s not good for your body overall, and in my case it seems to have an adverse reactiom to my immunity.

On the flip side, after a 2 week hiatus, I usually have about 1 week of “lousy brief workouts” followed by a week full of PR’s. So, it clearly can help break plateaus. But you probably could get the same results by avoid the extreme. Go intense, for sure. But not intentionally into the “overtrained” zone. This probably has much more to do with good recovery than it does prior intensity.

I’ve been training for almost 3 years and I’ve developed work capacity, and I like these extreme things😅, so I think I’m going to try it when a couple more weeks have passed

Just remember you’re likely to go into lousy/dangerous form as you fatigue throughout those 2 weeks. A torn ham or detached bicep would provide you a way longer recovery period than you originally thought.

You might want to do a week of high intensity lifts followed by a week of HIIT cardio. I swear properly done HIIT will overtrain you faster than lifting will, and I think less likely to injure you assuming you aren’t doing rock climbing for HIIT.

I want to start in two weeks because I think that at that moment I will be in even better physical condition, and I am aware of the danger, that is why I am going to use the best possible technique in each lift, then I am going to post in training that I plan to use those two weeks, Thank you very much for the advice

The training looks like the easy part!

Are you ready to consume 45 grams of fish oil, 40 grams of BCAAs and 400 grams of protein every day?

I am aware that it is very difficult and I am not going to lie to you. I don’t think I have a way to reach those amounts of protein, but I plan to increase my calories and try to increase the protein to the maximum.
