I recently hit 405 for a tough triple with knee wraps (=429 1RM on most calculators). My comp max in my centurion is 650 that I hit 2 months ago, and I think I still had some in the tank. So that’s 220+ difference.
But it’s really not possible to compare this, because that raw squat is the first time I’d tried to go over 315 raw in over a year. My best raw squat is a 505 with just a belt, but that was two years ago.

It’s funny, yes. Funny when guys get good numbers out of their suits. I like that.
I get about 20-30kg in a bench shirt and 40-50 in the deadlift, quite weak in the bottom. I’m very new in the gear business, though.
Has anyone used the Titan Velocity dead lift suit? I’ve been hearing good things about it. One lifter I know said it was like doing rack pulls there was so much pop off the floor. I’d appreciate any feedback.

Any recommendations for a training brief for someone who competes raw? I’d like to find a good brief that can help keep my hips and groin safe during training but not get my raw card revoked. Thoughts?

Cool, I’ve been thinking about spending the $ to get one too.
Gear Experience: inzer power pants, metal viking IPF squatter
Equipment being reviewed: inzer single ply powerpants
Pros: go on great, feel amazing, I feel 60% better when squatting\
Cons: not alot of rebound, and not alot of pop, also cant wear anything under it except whitey tighteys, comp. shorts will make the legs slide up, which make it useless
Thoughts: for a first timer in gear, great, and a true bang for your buck, add these with some single or double ply suit, and your leathal

Maybe try some Rehbands? I bought a pair and like them a lot. I don’t really notice much carryover, but my hips feel a lot better the day after.

That’s not a bad idea. I’ve heard good things about them, so I will look into it. The Inzer Power pants also sound like a good option. Thanks to both of you guys for the info!
Just jacked my back and hip on a deadlift session on Tuesday. So I’m in rehab right now. I just put in a order for some inzer briefs so when I go back I will still be doing 5/3/1 but at 41 I’m not doing heavy deadlifts or squats without briefs anymore. Just not in the cards for me ITs better to stay healthy. Anyone had any experience with lower back/hip injuries and if so what type of briefs helped you back?

Bump for this. I have a minor abdominal tear and would like to know about this also. Not looking for bigger lifts out of the briefs, just for my injury really.
carry over is sick on these. I managed to get almost 50lbs more than I got out of a brand new single ply suit with the straps up and knee wraps. they ride really high on the stomach so no prob belting these at all.
cons: very hard to break in. they rip you to shreads over and over again. It has taken me 3 weeks to break them in and even then they still have some work to do. Its very hard to do speed work with these because it takes so much to get down. I still cant wear them without my suit slippers or belt them for speed work. they are a pain to get on and off.
If you buy these get them bigger. I wear a 46 single ply and I wear a 48 in these and its tight as hell taking me well over 1 hour to get them on the first couple of times mostly because there is nothing to pull on to get them up. I can see it being very hard to hit depth with a suit over these.
the rebound at the bottom isnt good if you get out of the groove aka: arent sitting back and your knees calapse. you wont get up.
definitly not a bigginner 2 ply brief. It has tons of stopping power so keep that it mind.
Like all titan gear it stretches sooner or later. I am prob gonna have the hips taken in in prob 3 months and have the back grind stitched.
Even with all the negative I still recommend these briefs if you can deal with the hassle. they really are built to last and give amazing support.
Stats
Best Lifts: Squat:832 BP: 633 Dl: 661 total: 2120
Gear Experience: 6 years
Equipment being reviewed: Overkill Briefs
Pros: Custom only, unreal spring rebound, and stopping power.
Cons: hard to get in by yourself. May take an adjustment to get perfect fit
Comparison: These are the best briefs I have ever used. In the past I have done well in Metal ACE and then the Titan Boss briefs. My overkill triple ply custom briefs are an excellent coompliment to the Overkill canvas (or any suit for that matter). I have never experienced more stability and speed in my career.
Thoughts: Even though all Overkill gear is 100% custom (no stock sizes) which means fitting and waiting for gear may be an issue. Any thing Rudy Rosales makes is worht th wait. Not to mention his prices out do everyone else’s stock sizes.
Hey there Testdog, since you have all the Overkill gear and have used just about ever bench shirt, brief, and squat suit out there you should also give a review of the Overkill squat suit and bench shirt
