Sugar and Training

Hi, I tried searching first but didn’t find info on this.

I’ve experimented with consuming higher amounts of refined sugars in the last four weeks and I noticed a dramatic increase in strength. I was wondering if it can actually be due to the sugars or some other factor. There was also a dramatic increase in body fat, acid reflux, bloatedness, and cravings for bad stuff like candy bars. Always ate them post-workout and later. Tried to keep the calories the same as before.
