Today: Finished the 300 in 29:40, so I broke 30-minutes for the first time. Making steady progress. Did 2x25 with 135lbs on deadlifts, and got off 50 straight push-ups for the first time in probably 15 years.
Yesterday: Ran sprints. Forced to do them inside on a treadmill due to weather, so I run for 25 minutes to warm-up, and then did 8 30-second sprints at 12.0 with a 3.0 incline. Rested 45 seconds between each sprint. Short rest period made this pretty hard.
Saturday: Did my tri-superset of pull-ups, dumbbell bench, and heavy deadlifts, 8 sets each for a total of 24 sets. On the deadlifts got to 350lbs x 3 reps for several sets, which for me is pretty strong.
I’m getting more cut as of late. I think I might get bodyfat tested this week, and then re-test in April and then May.
Your routine sounds interesting. I’m just running through a routine right now but I think I may incorporate your routine at the end of this one. Great work on breaking 30 minute mark and great pull-ups. Stay strong!
Proraven, I applaud you for your workout at this age, keep working hard. I cant help but ask…HOW IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING 5 50’S, 5 150’S AND 5 400’S ALL IN THE SAME WORKOUT? I am a ex sprinter and after doing 2 400’s at 50:00 splits are a killer. What is your secret?
I think my secret is doing so many sprints is…I’m just not that fast.
Well, I do pretty well on the 50’s and 150’s.
But to outside observers, I have a feeling my 400’s most likely appear to be a very fast jog towards the end.
But ultimately, they still provide a massive burn and a great CV workout, and I seem to be getting faster with them.
Keep in mind I started these sprints back in October with only 3 50’s, and 3 150’s. I limped home and took a few days to recover. But like all workouts, my legs adapted to sprints over time.
