SubQ Syringes… Holding Back?

Longtime user of the standard BD brand syringes available from your local pharmacy. Used IM syringes for years, but when switched to SubQ syringes, i eventually noticed that after injecting, I could hold the used syringe up, draw back the plunger, and leftover testosterone would drain down……consistently equivalent to 4cc/ml worth of testosterone that wasnt getting injected. Apparently, that last little bit was getting stuck in the long tapered end of the slide on syringe tip. Whereas, IM syringes have a fairly flat end, with a screw on syringe.

Anyone else notice this?

What do you mean subq syringes?

Insulin syringes are best for injections as far as being less wasteful due to the non dead-space design.

Technically you could use any syringe for SubQ.

BD brand insulin syringe, 1cc/ml, 25G 5/8” needle
With “slip tip” needle….meaning not the luer lock/screw on

Based on that info, im hsing the worst possible insulin syringe. Good info!! Ill pop up to walmart pharmacy and scout the correct one. If unavailable, will just compensate by increasimg draw up dose by 4cc. Already discussed with pharmacist
