Stupidest/Smartest Things You Did While Cutting

Hello all.

What are your worst and best experiences while cutting down for the summer.

I am going to try to shed some fat in prep for the upcoming summer. I thought it would be a good idea to get an inside “Scoop” on cutting from some of the experienced heads on the forum.

Also feel free to talk about the Best/worst cardio experiences that you have had on your way to rippedness.

Phoenix.

Not having enough lean mass to make a cut worth-while.

What weight did you guys cut too?

Cutting the weight too fast and losing more muscle then I should have in the process. Take my advice dont try to shed it too fast or you will regret it.

not taking enough BCAA’s. a must. not eating enought veggies. not having enough fat. not taking enough magnesium. not taking fenugreek.

cutting too long

best thing i did and am still doing is lifting heavy and high intensity cardio , i do muay thai and intervals.

Dropped 10 kgs of fat and lost no muscle mass at all had a body fat test friday just gone, down 5% .

I cut down to 160 (I’m 5’9).

Stupidest thing was combining not having enough mass and doing too much at once. Gradually add stuff in and it goes much much better.

Worst experience was living the low carb life for a YEAR in order to be really lean for summer (as in 30 g per day low). Did I get lean? Yeah. But was it mentally/emotionally worth it? No. I also went about re feeds all wrong for the first half, which set me back quite a bit.

It’s definitely something one should know what they’re doing and have a solid plan in place before trying to attempt. I’m confident I could do it better a second time around…but I’ll pass. I think if anything, they can be good for brief cycles…but not prolonged.

??? You mean dietary fat? I had plenty of it. I was using an “anabolic diet” type approach, then later transitioned to coach Thib’s low carb guidelines (which worked pretty well).

haha yeah sorry bro, dietary fat. i made the mistake of going too low dietary fat and carbs. and looked like crap. but i agree, thib’s diet in his section is really good and worked great for me.

Nice, I just got up to 210.

Overdoing the cardio at the expense of muscle.
