That’s pretty damn impressive. I don’t know anyone that can even stand on a swiss ball much less do squats with 135 lbs while standing on a swiss ball.
I don’t think he’s accomplishing anything with that task but it’s impressive none the less.
Finding a small farm animal and teaching it do the Macarena through rush hour traffic while eating a banana is impressive as well but it doesn’t make it any less stupid.
Wrangling rattle snakes is dumb too, but yet impressive. Get it?
World class skiiers do those. Fact they do all kinds of exercises on the swiss balls. It makes their stabilizer muscles incredibly strong which allows for greater control at the amazing speeds they travel at.
Until the guy put the barbell on his shoulders, I was impressed by his balance. After that, I recalled some T-Nation’s Coach’s sentence : “It’s highly improbable that you’ll need to squat weighed during an earthquake.” And found that so dangerous and dumb…
Sounds familiar to a brilliant standing BoSu ball, single arm band row disaster witnessed at my gym the other day. The poor client who is paying the “excessively overweight” trainer approx $40per hr was instructed to stand one foot on a BoSu ball while doing a single arm band row. The best part was the trainer used themselves as the resistance, by wrapping themselves around the other end of the band. Client finishes set only to release the band and send it flying into said trainers gut doubling the trainer over and launching the client in the other direction.
Pure Cutting Edge Training if only we could keep up…
