How long have you been dieting again?

The cal bump might be warranted, but I’d definitely increase (add) HIIT cardio if you do the cal bump. I’d honestly recommend that you switch from DC to something more (traditionally) targeted for fat loss like this Strength Training, Bodybuilding & Online Supplement Store - T NATION

There is not 200 way to write it down.

You shouldnt be doing DC

Not because it is not good for fatloss (sorry to those saying DC isnt a good option for fatloss, it can work great, u just need to tweak some stuff : up the rep ranges, add more cardio and eventually maybe switch to the 3way.)

Also, even if DC works for fatloss, wtf are u thinking of STARTING it when ur at around 2000 cals?

Change your workout, carb cycle, do more cardio (if you are gonna do steady state and want to cut, go for at least 40mins…)

Oh and while we’re at it, why the fuck would u bastardize DC ?

…thank you

So his lifts are increasing still, and he’s not cutting fat: why is the general consensus that he should generally eat more?

If he’s still building muscle, I find it hard to believe that his metabolism has “Stalled out” from too few calories, unless it’s all CNS-caused gains.

What do you think your overall macro breakdown is?

Looking at your diet, you’re not getting much fat at all: basically just your fish-oil supplements, a little in your eggs in the morning (good), and then whatever is in the “String cheese” which is likely to have as much carb as fat, and probably not great quality fat. If you’re not eating decent quality beef, you might be getting fat in the beef, but it’s not the fat you want. I’d either spring for grass-fed beef if you can afford it, or get it as lean as possible and find your fats elsewhere.

Based on where I started this post, I don’t just want to tell you to eat more, because if your overall calorie count is really where it is and your still putting on MUSCLE (as opposed to just strength) I’m not sure you want to increase calories.

But you’d help your fat lose by adding some quality fats for sure.

Um, string cheese has like less than 1 gram of carbs, but 6 grams of fat. As far as beef, grass fed will make 0% difference in fat gain in the short term. 1900-2300 is way too low for someone 200# @16% working out on DC. WHo said he was building muscle? Sorry for the harshnicity.

He said his lifts were increasing. If he’s not making beginner style CNS gains, I assume he’s putting on muscle.

Sorry, no idea about the string cheese.

The Omega 6/3 ratio on corn fed beef is terrible. As far as overall calories, there’s not much a difference, but his diet is seriously lacking fat, but I don’t want to advocate injecting a bunch of crappy fat into it.

Here: If the consensus is that calories are too low OP, I suggest you start eating more fat as a way to bring your calories up.

I totally agree with your point.

when i was in your shoes i lowered carbs and cals at the same time added in one high day, previous to that everyday was a medium carb & cal day.
