Poured two of the three molds I have. Should have a ~180 and an ~315 stone unveiled tomorrow. Hopefully they come out alright. Also just realized my tacky is frozen as it’s been festering (or freezing) in my gym bag for like 6 months. WHEEEE.

That is fucking awesome that you are making your own stones!

I was so inspired by strongman training, went through a phase where I watched nearly every competition I could find on youtube. Zydrunas’ overhead power always amazed me. And of course Kazmaier, fucking beastly intensity.

Anywho, go forth and be strong… that 315 stone is gonna be a bitch!

I’m thinking of getting a 20" mold to make a 300 some pounder. That 240 we have isn’t enough.

Just be wary, for us 550ish deadlifters, the jump from 250-300 can be deceiving. First time I tried loading a 300 I couldn’t even break the floor with it. It was a 21" diameter which is common for a 300, especially in contest. A 20" is rather cozy.

Lol, I have seen many strongmen fail a press that way. I remember Terry Hollands doing almost exactly what you did with an axle once. He cleaned it, kinda started to give it a go, shuffled it a bit, and then was just like “fuck it” and threw it down. At a certain point if you’ve held it too long you just run out of energy and it’s hopeless after that.

It’s very rare for me that I fail to press something over my head lol. FFS, I cleaned a 300lb log, I damn well righteously should have had it over my head! THIS IS HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE.

I always train stones with really high volume. It’s not even deliberate, it just kind of happens. Stones are really fun for me, and I’m very very out of practice with them. If there’s two things I really need to improve on, it’s loaded carries (kegs/sandbags) and stones. Everything else is pretty up there.

Also, I just finished my 204lb sandbag. I’ll make the 254 tonight when I get home from gymage. Will be sure to film log tonight.

ALSO, to humor you guys…I loaded the 320 half naked. I was struggling to lap it due to really long basketball shorts, so I took them off and resumed loading in my briefs. I then took my shirt off. This was in the street outside of my driveway. People seldom passed, and when they did, they probably pretended to talk on their phones because of how awkward they felt.
