Events
Yoke
270x100ft had to readjust the crossbeam, I was getting all messed up
450x100ft, left leg is killing me on each step, squatting before was probably responsible.
550x100ft, repick at half this felt like DEATH. My legs are aching and they have no energy in them.
550x100ft did this pretty pissed
I shouldn’t have came out today. Today should’ve been a back off day, even if I hadn’t squatted the session before, it still should have been a day taken off.
I’m pretty down at the moment. I have absolutely no motivation to do anything diet or workout related. I’m hoping I get the fire back sometime soon, because I could care less about this contest right now (which I know is really really bad). That being said, I’m going to take this next week off, followed by a light week and then the week off leading up to the contest.
Ah, yes.

Lol
The gym I used to go to that Adam Scherr trains at randomly got some stones. I think they’re Adams stones because one of them is HUGE. None of them have numbers written on them, but I just assume the big one is well over 400 pounds. Anyway, went over there today when the gym was closed and lifted some of the stones. One of the four of them weighed like 150-180lbs, and the bigger one is around 250 . That one actually gave me really bad stone rash. These stones are rough as fuck!

Dude. It takes so much just to hug the 4+ stones.

Yeah dude, that big one had to be pushing 450. I’m sure Adam at 6’8" has little trouble hugging that bitch though. I struggle to hug 300+.
Never tried one heavier than the 240 pounder that we have. I’m not even sure I can picture how huge a 450lb stone would be lol.

Weighed myself for the first time in like 3 months.
231 on the dot. Had wallet in my pocket and shoes on which is obviously loaded with monsta cash nomsayin.
I’m probably sitting around 228-230 morning weight.
Log (out of rack)
75x10
165x5
215x3
255x3,3,3 absolutely GASSED. Sets were strong, but the last set was just a fucking retard-mode clutch wee-woo badaboom bada-boo-boo-got-knocked-the-fuck-out. I ate literally nothing today, except my stupid proton shake at like 4 am which makes me get the poison itchies.
Log work was just to practice with the log again I suppose. I’ve done 275x5 with one clean before, but that’s out of my reach atm.
Hang Power Snatch
135x5,3,3 headache, dehydrated today
ONE ARM BARBELL SNATCH YEAAAAH
135x1 with right, and 1 with left. So reckless I am. Tsk. Tsk.
Nothing big today. I’ve come to the realization that I just don’t have the desire to win this contest. It seems like a real crap thing to say, but actually it’s made me quite happy. I’m taking this opportunity to spread my wings and get my feet wet. Should be fun. Can’t wait to start training again once this comp is over.
What’s the log diameter?

Been a little while since I’ve posted but I’m back. The contest is over and I can say I’ve learned more in one day about this sport than I have the year or so I have been chasing it. I met some really cool people, and finally got my ears wet. My placing was negligible though, considering all of my competitors were 23-27 and had atleast 3 competitions under their belts. Not a biggie, I wasn’t in it to win it, honestly. It’s not even a bad thing because I know what I’m capable of, and at the moment I am just too soft and immature in the sport and have a long way to go before I can start competing as a LW to win.
So here’s a little write up for those interested.
Yoke/Frame: 650 yoke/600 frame
I smoked the 650 yoke, think I was 2nd fastest on it, but the frame was a mess. I ran over to pick it up (no straps, and that bitch barely moved 6 inches off the floor. Didn’t even try to pick it up again. Called it there. Placing is unknown, but I’m very content to have finished the yoke reasonably well.
Press Medley: 255 barbell, 275 tire axle, 255 12" log
Won this event by a large margin. Also had Stefan Solvi Petursson judging me, which was cool. Barbell and axle were a cake walk. My lack of training on a 12" log costed me though. Tried it twice, no dice. Nobody else to my knowledge pressed the axle, and a bunch couldn’t even clean it. It was a tough axle!
Sled Push/drag: heavy as fuck
I did okay here, never pushed or pulled a heavy sled before, so I had the conditioning, but not the strength to pull a heavy sled for long. Made it like 3/4 the way before I ran out of time. Brutal medley, this really killed a bunch of people.
Deadlift Medley: 475 axle, 600 frame, 545 barbell for reps
I totally destroyed that axle. I had failed to hit it in training a few months back, but vindicated myself hitting 500 in training on a 2", followed by an emphatically easy 475 axle deadlift at the contest. It was so easy I retried the 600 frame I had failed previously, but to no avail. WEEEEEAAAAAK DEADLIFT. Still happy with how it went. Everyone else hit atleast one rep with the 545 barbell.
Stone Series: 200-350
First time using tacky/tape. Shit was very fun, but I’m terribly untrained with stones. Breezed through everything up until the 285. I lapped it and my hamstrings locked up terribly on the extension. I relapped, but was fried at this point.
Enough small talk. Had a blast out there, but now it’s time to get fucking stronger.
