Hey this is my first post, but I am a personal trainer in a gym in Northampton mass and I’m trying to find out if there is any interest in a strongman gym in the area. If I can find enough people I will either try to get the gym to invest in implements or maybe buy some myself. any takers?

i don’t know where northhampton is, but i do know that there are a LOT of gyms up in the maine/mass area that cater to PLing. I do know that sullivan and cardoza just opened a gym around boston that i believe has strongman stuff. I don’t know if this helps you, but if you can’t get the implements, at least know that there are some good gyms around ya.

Interesting, I too am a personal trainer at a gym in Northampton. Small world huh? In fact, I think I may know who you are. But I’m not so sure. So, let me ask you this; Do you know Jay Cutler?
Anyways, on to the strong man stuff. I personally am more into gymnastics stuff, but I trained for several years with Charlie Lysak who is out of Ludlow. He has some incredible strong man type training programs that are done with cheap easily attainable equipment. Lysak himself is scary strong and I’m sure that you would love his stuff if you’re into strong man stuff.

Another idea is that there is an iCAT national conference going on next weekend (Aug 4-6) and Charlie will definetely be doing his Primal Strength stuff there. But, I’m not completely certain which day, or exactly what workout he’ll be doing.

yeah I’m actually going to a private gym in the worcester area, but I’m trying to see if theres any interest out here.
I no longer live in the area, so can’t help you there. But I have to admit I laughed at the thought of if you ever sponsored a Highland Games competition - you could have guys in plaid skirts and girls^w wome^w womy^w non-guys in plaid shirts.
Of course, I left Noho to move to Dupont Circle in DC, which has its own style.
