Gonna be moving there in around 3 weeks (freshman at UNT). My training for wrestling has always consisted of strongman elements and I really don’t want to return to basic barbell exercises and slow down my progression. Anyone in this area train strongman at a gym or have the equipment at their house? Thanks.

Metroflex in Plano has a large down payment and charges 50 $ a month. Little too pricey for me considering I’ll be going 2x a week.
I’m not from your area, but know of a strongman gym directory. I looked up what’s near Denton. Maybe try Wake Athletics in Lake Dallas?
Don’t know what they cost, but looks like they have a decent setup.
Metroflex is actually Destination Dallas now. And that’s a bit of a drive from Denton anyway, at least in my opinion.
I doubt you’ll find better pricing than 50ish per month for a legit set-up. When I was a member at Metroflex, they charged 50 bucks a month for a month to month membership, but pricing was better if you signed a year contract. I wish I could still go there, I used to live close to it, and their new location is absolutely fucking awesome. That’s where I did my strongman comp in June. The gym is definitely much more oriented towards bodybuilders, but their equipment for strongman is substantial.
