Un but a push press is less than a military press because it uses the drive of the legs. One is at it’s heart a more of a full body lift and one isn’t.
I think I put that badly. If a guy told me his push press numbers were his military numbers and I found out later it was a push press I thinnk he was a liar. Because one is easier than the other.

Joe that is what she is saying the kipping pull up is less than a dead hang, however there are benefits to it just like there are benefits to a push press.
Hell I never heard of a push press to a few years ago. Not defending just saying. The same question you have about some who quotes PR’s in push press as MP, same needs to be clarified for pull ups now.

Like I have said before if I tried one of those kipping pullups I would probably rip my shoulder apart while simultaneously knocking out a tooth. I would think the Push Press and MP is a perfect analogy.
