is that a euphemism?
those wods look tough.
and nice front squats-
keep those up and that ghetto booty will show up.
a few things on upper back weakness that helped me
aside from adding more rowing
doing zerchers and front squats has helped my upper back allot
and a question or two about your shoulder-
how do you sleep- on your face- on your side?
on your back ?
I have some shoulder issues - and it turns out its like 50/50 old injury and bad posture while sleeping
I used to sleep on my side with my shoulder jammed in tight
or I would do worse and sleep on my face with my head twisted to the side.
both are death for me
just some 3 cents.
and that is allot of jerky
ps the dog video wasn’t working

Sorry keep forgetting to thank you for this.
My left shoulder I had a grade 2 AC separation my senior year of football, has always given me a problems since the.
I now am not sleeping on my left side, just my back and right side. Already waking up with less pain in the shoulder.
All the other suggestions I am doing.
Thanks a ton.
If you need a good laugh.

Okay fill me in. Whats a burpee over a bar. I know what a normal one is but are you just hoping over the bar when its one the floor on the “up” part of the burpee?
^ Sorry first time I did this one today.
Basically you do a burpee like normal then you hop over feet together, then drop to do another one. You are supposed to turn in the air so you are in position to drop for the next one. By the time we got to end though it was just hopping over then turning around.
Oh yea and my legs were a little sore from yesterdays all leg workout.
Damn DJHT, that’s one crazy ass workout. Definitely giving me some ideas though!
Well it is definitely getting me in shape, of course my strength is going down, but if I can fix my weaknesses and drop the weight then goal done.
How much are you trying to drop?

When I feel athletic enough to perform like I used to in my 20’s.
As far as doing sports, obstacles, climbing a rope etc.
It was very humbling after years of just doing big lifts how weak and out of shape I was to do things like I could do when I was in my 20’s. I expect to degrade now that I am approaching 40, however this was really eye opening.
Simple things like being flat of your back and popping up to a football position, doing a “burpee” which of course is an up-down from football.
I dont want to get wrapped up on scale weight, more concerned about inches and athletic ability, hope that makes sense.
I’m with you on that one. I really want to get back to feeling really athletic again. I think that’s a great goal to have. Is your plan to do conditioning along with strength training? Are you using a specific program now for strength? What about conditioning?
I’m sure you’ve answered this before and I apologize for the questions but I’m always interested in reading about what others are doing to acheive the same goals I am.
james
Yep. I completely understand where you’re coming from wit h that. There’s something to be said about functional strength…
Atypical honestly I have a ton of equipment, prowler, farmers walks, tractor tire, rack and weights. I cycle this and now actually have been doing the Crossfit with the wife over the last 4 months. I dont do the pull-ups due to the shoulder injury and dont want to get into the problems with the kipping.
I think rotating around between, Crossfit and strongman and just running/sprinting.
Hopefully I can get to a certain athletic ability to actually go play some soccer, rugby or pickup basketball game.
L2game yes I have no aspirations to be a body builder, used to want to be a power lifter, just not in the cards. Maybe someday could do the highland and strongman competitions, to me those look like something I could do and be interested in.
I have stated in my last log, since we moved almost 2 years ago the wife and I have made some really good friends. These friends eat healthy, do crossfit and do things like the warrior dash etc.
I dont want to be that husband who stands on the sidelines and takes pictures and complains about how when I was in my 20’s I could do all that. These people are our age and they are having fun.
Simple as that.
Yea man, I hate it when I can’t do things because I’m too old to move.
I envy you and your youthfulness.
