Strongest College Football Team

They only played for the National Championship like 4 times in the last 10 years… WTF was I thinking.

We beat Miami at home, the toughest game on the schedule and now we have no chance at the title. I’m fucking delusional!

It looked as if troy was a pretty big challenge yesterday. And from what I can recall abuot FSU last year it wasn’t the big games they had trouble with, it was the games that had little importance at the time. FSU is ranked 10th, I don’t see that much of a shake up in the top 10 for FSU to jump from 10 to the top 2. Look at WVU’s schedule, with the lose of micheal bush from louisville there schedule should be easy. Ohio state who do they have left michigan. The game FSU has left is florida. If notre dame beats michigan and USC it doesn’t matter what you’re noles do man, they can go undefeated. Plus texas only dropped to 8th with a lose to the toughest team they play.

Florida State is probably the most friendly ranked team in the BCS. Penn State being the opposite. that’s how Florida State finished in the top 5 for a 10 year reign… they were good but a friendly BCS to southern teams helps their rankings.

The 95-96 Penn State team was by far the best team in the country, they went 12-0, had 3 top 9 first round picks in the draft including the #1 and still didn’t get a National championship… they gave it to Tom Osbourne because he had never won one before. I like Joe Paterno, and I think he has a couple of undefeated seasons with not even a chance to play for the National Championship.

A playoff system is clearly needed in college football. Florida Gators didn’t deserve theirs in 96-97 either. Again another southern team bias bid. If all the bowl games were played in the north instead of the south, you would have a different ranking system. The Big 10 has it rough in the rankings. The ACC and SEC are the favorites.

Trust me the rankings are clearly bias.

It was the 94/95 PSU team. The undefeated 68,69, and 73 teams were not rewarded a national championship. Other teams have been ignored one tone, but PSU has been left out four times. There should be a playoff.

yea, looks like the noles had some trouble with troy. But penn state may not be the team this year but what were you saying last january…still wearing your “NOLES” shit with pride???

WTF is with all these people who like to bring up old shit like it makes a difference in the Noles 2006 battle for the National Championship?

Do I detect a sore Penn State fan or two for getting their ass handed to them by Notre Dame?

Losers… take your fuckin medicine. & STFU!
you better get off whatever you are on. i am surprised that the webmaster has not kicked you out yet

i don’t deny this at all, but the fact remains that with the system in place FSU is a very very long shot for a national championship.

NEBRASKA, NEBRASKA,NEBRASKA

his name is BOYD EPLEY, not brian

he is the very first strength coachever to hold that title

I remember seeing that the QB, scott frost could hang clean 365 .

O.K. I messed that up, I couldn’t remember the year.

Yes Penn State has been ripped. I agree completely. After the “94-95” season, I lost all faith in the BCS. The BCS is bullshit and pretty much useless. The best two teams in the country barely ever play for a title.

Penn State might have 5 or 6 National titles if Joe relocated down south somewhere.

Also, the NCAA has never even sniffed in PSU’s direction in regards to rules violations, unlike a lot of other alleged college football teams.

Spike, my daughter is a student trainer at Baylor. Actually, IF they’d have been in shape, and covered the back on that pass, they may have pulled the upset. She said many of the players show toughness by not wanting to drink. Huh? Really dumb…but the Bears are getting better. Not a strong team though.
Hey Scipio,
I don’t understand that thinking. Baylor’s first team isn’t bad but they don’t have the depth TCU has. Coach GuyMo had talked quite a bit of pre-game smack. That CB CJ Wilson had made comments about his displeasure with TCU not offering him a scholarship. He cost his team 15 yards after hitting that Heisman pose on his pic. He then got burned by our #3 TB, on a pass from our RS Freshman QB who had never played college ball until the 3rd quarter. Aaron Brown, the TB, got 3 TDs against 1AA UC Davis last night, he’s just freaky fast.

I think Baylor will be ok this year, hopefully get into a bowl, maybe bring a nice crowd to the Fort Worth Bowl. They didn’t get caught napping by 1AA Northwestern, one of the best all 1AA teams in college football. I really hope Baylor beats the Aggies.

Best of luck to your daughter.

Sorry, should not have messed up the name. He started the “Bigger, Faster, Stronger” program that a lot of high schools used to get started in weight training. He was a true pioneer. Haven’t heard much about him lately. I wonder if he is still on the leading edge. If not, I have no quarrel with “Old School”.

I thought BFS was Kim Goss’s baby?

Look at the horrible squat form of these Oregon linebackers!! Inflated numbers!!

Yes, I agree that they are using very nice form and squatting to parallel. However, this is one school, and a couple former athletes have chimed in defending their respective programs…which still leaves over 100 Div 1A schools unaccounted for. Using these few schools as a representation of all the strength programs is like scooping a glass of water from the ocean and saying “There are no fish in this glass, therefore there are no fish in the ocean.”
??? The second guy is at parallel, however the first dude is 2-3 inches above parallel. What exactly do you consider parallel?
