Strong Little Snapper

I like the new avi. Good luck testing your maxes Monday.

So here’s a story for you. This morning, premeeting, my coworker said, there’s a woman who lifts at xxx who reminds me of you. She’s about your size and she works out with a big guy who looks like he used to be a powerlifter… Um, I know her. He says you have a very serious focus. I said, yes, I’m sure that’s her.

I told him to say hi.

Just came over to wolf whistle at the new avi. Have fun tomorrow!

Yay for getting back on the horse…I mean bench.

That new avi is hawt hawt hawt.

When you say no longer rep, you mean only do singles right? You’re too good at conventional DLs to stop!

Based on the 155 single, I think you have a lot more there. It looked pretty easy. When do you think you’ll test your max because that wasn’t it.[/quote]

I know that wasn’t my raw max. I should have kept going. I’m going to max out in my gear on Monday so I can figure out my goals for my next meet, which is ten weeks away. I have no clue how much weight I can squat in my new suit.

I can’t wait to hear how you do on Monday. The 155 looked really strong. I wish you’d kept on going.

How are you finding moving back and forth suit/raw?

Lookin FIERCE!!!

snaps fingers

Love watching your vids! Inspiring for sure!!

Your daughter reminds me of mine at that age.

…and of coarse that avi is an eye catcher.

dday and Nikki: I’m not going to rep conventionally for awhile because my whole body aches in a bad way after doing so. I just can’t hold my form. I can, however, hold my form on sumo even though the strength isn’t there yet. I will just pull singles conventionally.

O: I’ve decided to hold off on testing my max in the suit for a few weeks. I have to start squatting in gear in about three weeks and would rather just stay raw until then

So yesterday I did some upper body training: BBB flat bench, lots of cuff stuff, more upper body stuff, etc.

Then I went to the NASA bench press and power sports nationals meet. The meet consisted of strict curl, which is anything BUT strict; bench; and DL. I did not leave with monolift envy because I had forgotten that there was no squat portion. How can there be a PLing meet without a squat? I’ve only ever competed USAPL, so it’s always interesting to see how other feds operate. NASA is just way more casual and lax with rules. There was no clock on the lifters, which I really liked. And I didn’t find that the meet lagged at all as a result. There was also no start command and virtually no pause on the chest in bench. A lot of people were doing touch and gos. USAPL really enforces all the rules at the start and finish of a lift, which results in the lifter having to handle the weight for longer periods of time.

There were very few women . . . maybe seven . . . in the full meet. And that’s at a “national” meet! The smallest was in the 148 class, I believe. I think they were all raw. The girls were great and invited me to go to an AAU meet with them in Las Vegas. But it’s too close to the USAPL Rocky Mountain State Games that I’m doing.

There was a guy from one of my gyms competing as well. He’s a guy I spotted about six months ago repping 405 on the bench. At that time, I approached him and asked if he competed. He said he had done a few meets about 15 years ago. Long story short, I told my coach about him, and he’s been helping him get going again. He did very well yesterday: a 551 bench and 594 DL, both geared. He’s just a stupid strong bencher and doesn’t even have the arching or leg drive or staying tight concepts down yet. He’ll be doing the State Games with me in July.

USAPL Women’s Nats is this weekend. There is some very serious lifting going on there. If anyone is interested in results, you can find them at Powerlifting Watch. If there’s one thing I learned from looking over the results, it’s that I’m not even in the ballpark in terms of strength. The winning female at my age/weight squatted 253, benched 165, and DLed 286. It’s always been a dream of mine to compete at Nats, but I don’t think it’s in the cards for me.

I checked the results for my weight class - 165lbs
all 3 winners busted 1000lbs.
talk about a long road ahead…

How cool!..but bazaar with no squats. that’s like…not …but whatever  Those ladies at the nationals are SERIOUS BUISNESS. A bunch of heros.

Im surprised that they where so lax ed on the bench.

Uhm, I definetely seem Nationals in your cards. Just because it’s not in your hand now, doesn’t mean that you won’t draw a good hand soon. Just gotta keep hitting, hit until you get 21.
Okay, enough of that card-playing metaphor :stuck_out_tongue:

Sounds like a fun time, squat or no squat.

Hey Snap. I missed the live feed. Any idea where results may be posted? I checked USAPL and Powerliftingwatch. Neither seem to have anything yet.

Thanks very much. I appreciate that. I wanted to get a look at my potential competition. Because we are at the new IPF weight classes, it’ll be interesting to see what weight class people end up at. I looked at the 60 and the 67.5 and their actual weights. The most competitive 60kg lifter will likely end up at 57 rather than 63. I’m looking at M1 63kg lifters btw

I happen to think you can hit those numbers Snap.

Ksnap i think if you can or did qualify you should compete in the women’s nationals. It’s the journey of training, getting there and competing that makes it all worth while. Placing is just the icing on the cake.

First of all, that squat PR looked great! I’m very envious of your beautiful squat form and the weight you can get up and down. It inspires me to keep working through my own squat issues.

Those age/weight Nationals numbers are quite daunting. Wow. On the one hand, I’m proud that there are women my size and age who can lift that much. On the other hand, I feel incredibly weak compared to that.

That avi is one of my favorites of yours.

Oh, I already qualify by virtue of being a master’s level female with a USAPL total. And if I had competed, I would’ve placed second since there was only one other woman in my weight/age class!

Lil Power: You should do a USAPL state meet so you can qualify for Nats and then make the world team. Once your shoulder gets all better of course.

And I can’t wait to watch Ms. O on live feed at IPF Worlds in September. I need to check out your competition . . .

Squats today. And I changed my mind about maxing in the suit. I have to in order to find out where I am and set goals for my next meet.

Lol, never checked your age. So how come you don’t enter?
