Nice PR’s, you know its a good day when you get multiple PR’s on the same lift.
Nice squat PRs. I know you’ve been loving those squat this past month and it’s paying.
I think I’ll try sumo when I get my conventional DLs going.
And that little upside down monkey up there is a tiny Snap. That picture made me smile. My 7-year-old has been wanting to do gymnastics. I think it could be helpful in so many sports. I know the Norwegians have all their little soccer players doing it to better develop their coordination. I’ll bet all of us in PW wish we’d been doing that as kids. More neurological connection…everywhere.

Great squat day for me today. I haven’t had a raw squat PR in . . . well, quite awhile. I always seem to work up to a certain weight and then throw on the gear. But I’m staying raw for now.
Squat
5/45
5/95
3/115
2/135
2/150 Rep PR! 1 RM max to date was 150 lb. Here it is. Felt surprisingly light.
1/155 PR!
I had to work a bit for this. But I wasn’t totally maxed. I was really, really thrilled with this.
Sumo DL
5/115
5/145
3/5/170
I’m thinking I’m going to switch to sumo. My coach said my back was nice and tight and flat, which is not the case with my conventional pulling these days. I’m going to stay the course with the 3 x 5 accessory work after squats and see how far I can go with it.
Finished up with weighted hypers, lying hammies, and good girl/bad girls.

Nice PRs!
Congrats on those squat prs! They were very pretty. And your daughter is a cutie.
Nice PRs, well done.

Actually, it aint. I’ll squat raw up to a heavy single again next week and then throw on the suit. I gotta figure out where my max is [roughly] in order to write a new program. Just realized I only have nine training weeks until my next meet. How can that be? I will compete geared, so I need to have an idea of where I am with the new suit and will probably start training in it in mid-June.
nine weeks?? AH HELL!! I didn’t realize it was that soon!!!
squat pr!!!
Nice PR’s snap.
Today: Started out with preventive care: cuff rolls, rear delt, DB row, some other shoulder thingy.
Flat Bench
8/45
8/45
Worked on form with just the bar. Lots of cues I had to pay attention to. Drop shoulders. Squeeze glutes. Pull belly button in. Slowly row bar down. Stay tight.
5/55
5/65
5/75
3/5/80
Flat Bench Slow Negatives
3/95
3/105
Pecs on pec deck, seated row, skulls, bicep curls, scap stability shit.
EDIT: Bench is my friend.
Bench is your sister with that workout. Soon you’re gonna be do the concentric and eccentric with the 105.
sorry i’m late to the party to say those squats looked great! did indeed look like you had more in you.
i just noticed how you set it low in the rack then stand up with it fast. is that part of a ‘gee isn’t it light’ ritual?
Nice work
good pressing
I guess summer is here with your new avi

Yeah, but even our friends can piss us off every now and again. Right?
It seems there’s no getting away from the bench press. There’s full meets, push/pulls, bench only meets. Is there such a thing as a squat and dead only meet? That would be my favourite!
Nice work as always.

Interesting new Avatar.
great benching.
Based on the 155 single, I think you have a lot more there. It looked pretty easy. When do you think you’ll test your max because that wasn’t it.

I know that wasn’t my raw max. I should have kept going. I’m going to max out in my gear on Monday so I can figure out my goals for my next meet, which is ten weeks away. I have no clue how much weight I can squat in my new suit.
Today’s training: deadlift.
I decided I will no longer rep conventional deadlifts. At least for the time being. Although I plan to pull conventional on the platform at my next meet.
