Strong Little Snapper

Fawlty Towers. . . .

“What part is swollen?”
“Her eyes.”
“What?”
“Eyezzz.”
“Her thighs.”
“THIGHS!!!”

I think I need the lasik too.

Uh, There ain’t no “fat” there, missus…
It is all muscle.

On a way too personal note: There are longevity and quality of life concerns with females in very low BF%…
Even calorie restriction studies show some significant negative effects. Lifespan was increased w/calorie restriction.

Thanks for all the feedback. For the record, my BF was last tested at 19% with electric impedance in March. Definitely not too low!

I will attempt to squat in the new suit on Monday. At this point, I can’t even muster a curtsy in it. I will need a fair amount of weight on my back to hit depth, I suspect. Unfortunately, my CNS will need some time to get used to that since I haven’t squatted any serious weight since my last meet in mid-March. It should be an interesting experience. I’ll try to capture some of it on video.

Today it was back to business after quite a hiatus.

Started with all the cuff stuff. I’ve been such a good girl! Then I did:

Flat Bench
8/45
5/58
5/68
5/5/78

That’s where I am these days. I suspect my raw max might be 90 lb. At best. I realize now what a huge gain I got from the shirt at my last meet. Probably about 30%. But my coach is an awesome shirter. I’d like my raw max to be close to BW in the not-too-distant future. Definitely achievable.

Speaking of my coach, it appears that he will qualify for IPF Worlds in late September in Ontario, which is the same meet that Ouroboro and Big Bencher are doing. If I can work the logistics, I’d like to go handle him again. My next meet will be late July.

Finished up my training today with close grips, pecs in the pec deck, bicep curls, and skulls.

the awesome exploded!!
If my schedual permits I might drive down to cheer the worlds top lifters.

I agree with Oroboro.

I’m significantly stronger at 120+ than I was at 115. 5lbs makes a difference–especially when you are only 110 lbs at 5’4"!!! And you already look like a runway model. Fat thighs my ass. Eat. You are a powerlifter!
this. feed.

So because I can’t wait, I’m going to try out the new squat suit tomorrow after I DL. Probably a crazy ass plan, because I’ll be fatigued going into it. But I just can’t wait any longer. I’ve gotta see what happens. I have a strong suspicion that I’m destined for a few forward spills with as tight as the suit is.

And Mainy, it would be WONDERFUL to meet you if we both can get to USAPL Worlds.

Other news: I wedged myself into my new squat suit. Took about 20 minutes to get it all the way on. Way tight. I can’t breathe in it. Must drop some more weight. And I can tell that it will take me some time to figure out how to work with it. A Titan representative took full body measurements in the event that I order a custom bench shirt someday or another squat suit or a DL suit, which I actually need.

Looking forward to getting back to lifting after this hiatus.
20 minutes is nothing baby. That’s a loose suit. I had one that took 90 minutes the first time I put it on.

You women are tough. I once gave up in tears after trying to get a snowboard boot on for 10 minutes straight.

Video of you squashed into that suit would cheer this little sicky up. Spills not needed.

I’d still like spill vid.

Ahh, ye of little faith.

I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. Can’t wait to cram into that thing and get under the bar.

you can probably claim ‘conditioning’ on days you get your squat suit on
good to hear that it probably isn’t to small after all.
will be cool to see how you find it with respect to bouncing out the hole.

Got into it!

Love your enthusiasm!

You look so hardcore.

Doesn’t look that tight to me.

I think you should have gone a size smaller!

Did you have any energy left to lift afterwards?

Yowza. That kinda squish on the thighs looks severely uncomfortable.

PLAYTIME IN THE GYM

Squat
5/45
5/95
3/115 belt
2/135
2/145

Here’s that double:

1/155 wraps

Time for the suit. Only took 15 minutes to get it on today. Very flattering. Way tight in the thighs.

2/3/175 wraps/straps down

Lots of work to sit back and stretch out the suit. Even with the straps down. Not quite hitting depth yet, but no forward lurching!

1/195 STRAPS UP

A little trouble sitting back and didn’t hit legal depth. Parallel at best. Easy on the way up. No trouble with the walkout. Had an audience, which made me a little nervous.

I’ve got a long way to go in this suit! Now I’m basking in a major endorphin rush.

That is a look of satisfaction.

The wall behind you, though. It almost gave me a seizure.

Edit: And nice job on the squats. Can’t wait until you are fully comfortable with the suit.

195 looked good to me
