enjoy the vacation ![]()
Hope you and yours stay well out of the way of the fires. And the air quality doesn’t degrade.
Hope no one gets hurt…
Thanks for the offer, Joe, but I won’t have enough time in Atlanta to enjoy any fine dining. Plus, since I’m trying to get into the suit . . . An epsom salt bath is not going to take two inches off of my thighs. Any other suggestions?
Did my accessory work last night:
Sumo DL
5/115
5/135
3/5/165
Easy. Just flew up. Of course, the weight is light for me. Trying some new setup shit.
Then cable pull-thrus, weighted hypers, and chins (9s). I don’t seem to feel the pull-thrus much. Have 110 lb. on the cable and don’t find it all that challenging. I’ll probably go back to lying hammies.
I hung with three NASA guys last night who were benching. The one guy is a new lifter and really successful in spite of the fact that he doesn’t stay tight, arch, drive with his legs, or understand how to work with the shirt. He was doing shirted singles at 515. He’ll be phenomenal once he gets everything dialed in.
Snap, have you tried really tight comppression shorts? The slick material helps slide up and the compression well…compresses…
It does take the Centurion a few sessions to stretch out a little. Good luck.
hey snap, I hope you guys didn’t get beat up by all the storms out east.

Then it was time to put on my new squat suit. No go. Suit slippers. Baby powder. My coach lifting me up by my straps. No go. I’m carrying around a few extra pounds and that may make the difference. On my frame, it can actually make a big difference because I do not gain weight proportionately. So it’s cutting time to see if I can get the suit to fit by next Sunday when I’ll be in the company of some Titan representatives.
Stay strong.
I knew there was a reason I don’t use a squat suit. ![]()
Had a phenomenal time at USAPL Master’s Nationals in Atlanta this weekend. I was able to see some absolutely stellar lifting by some of the legends in the fed as well as meet some people I have only heard about in the past few years. I must admit that I was nervous handling my coach for a meet of this caliber. Gearing him, running numbers, etc. The timing of it all. But everybody was incredibly gracious and helpful. I also got to meet someone I have chatted with here on T-Nation.
Other news: I wedged myself into my new squat suit. Took about 20 minutes to get it all the way on. Way tight. I can’t breathe in it. Must drop some more weight. And I can tell that it will take me some time to figure out how to work with it. A Titan representative took full body measurements in the event that I order a custom bench shirt someday or another squat suit or a DL suit, which I actually need.
Looking forward to getting back to lifting after this hiatus.

How would losing more weight affect how you sit in your weight class?
Nice to see you back.
sounds like a good weekend-
actually - from wrestling forever I am a bit of a cutting ninja
8lbs in an hour via a super hot bath- is pretty typical.
just saying :))
not that its pleasent
PS your legs are are pretty mucular and lean.

My husband was a wrestler through college. He knows all about cutting as well and can help me if it’s just a few pounds.
But truth be told, I carry a fair amount of fat on my thighs and ass. If I truly lean out, I will compete in the 105s.
are you droppin classes Snap? or just to get a better fit in the suit? that’s tough!
I wedged myself into my new squat suit.
woo hoo!
I can’t breathe in it.
pft. but can you squat in it?
just kidding. hopefully it will stretch out a little bit if you can stuff yourself into it a couple times.
glad to hear you had a good time at the meet.
If you really want to lose the thigh fat, its the diet and you know it. How clean can you eat?
Thigh and ass fat? I must need glasses in a bad way.

20 minutes is nothing baby. That’s a loose suit. I had one that took 90 minutes the first time I put it on.
Don’t lose weight. It will loosen up with use. I’ve had to take my original 32 centurian in at the hips over time even after I went up a weight class.
I repeat, DO NOT LOSE WEIGHT!

The end of July. Although I have considered temporarily defecting from USAPL to NASA so I can try squatting out of a monolift.
You ll dominate in NASA. And that is a fact.
Yeah, those astronauts are weak.
This made me laugh. The first time I heard of NASA on this board I thought it was awesome: powerlifting astronauts, how could it get better than that.
I was disappointed that is wasn’t the astronaut NASA.
I agree with Oroboro.
I’m significantly stronger at 120+ than I was at 115. 5lbs makes a difference–especially when you are only 110 lbs at 5’4"!!! And you already look like a runway model. Fat thighs my ass. Eat. You are a powerlifter!
i love this forum because of posts just like O’s. Just way cool having advice form people who’ve been there and have alot of knwoledge…just had to give props to the smarties here :)–> Snap --you are included for sure!
