The third 175 looked shallow but I thought the first one at least was good. Have fun with your suit!
Stand under the bar a little more when you set up. If you look at your hips right before you pick the bar up, they are far behind the bar. Take your finger and draw a straight line down from the end of the bar. Try to get your hips underneath you. With as forceful as you try to pick up the bar, this will cause problems with heavy weight.
Watch the last heavy single with 195. Right after you pick the bar up, your weight shifts forward onto your toes. Get your hips all the way under and pick the bar up with your elbows down.
Also you can see your back start to round at the bottom. Dont give up form for depth, especially with this light weight.
whoo hoo new suit ![]()

Thanks for the feedback. Always appreciate it! I had my coach watch my squat setup from the side today. And he agreed that I need to get under the bar more. I think this is difficult for me because I carry the bar so damn high. Something to work on. I think my form was somewhat compromised in the hole because it was so hard to sit back in the suit since I’m just breaking it in.
And I had to laugh that you referred to 195 as light weight. It’s not really that light for me at my skill level. But I believe that someday it will be a warmup weight in gear.
Today was a mellow squat day. Or should have been. But I felt terribly weak and tired throughout my entire training session. I don’t know whether it was a result of all the fresh air I got this weekend. Or the sunburn I got watching an outdoor gymnastics exhibition. Or what.

I’m having trouble feeling these. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Never done 'em before.
Finished up with lying hammie, good girl, and bad girl. Decided to dump cable pull-thrus because I really don’t feel like I’m getting much outta them.
I was thinking about you when I read this log. This lady is one of the top Canadian lifters but her comment about her suit made me think of you

I hope you enjoyed your mother’s day.
Get your elbows under the bar. Either with a false grip or grab as close as you can and keep your upper-back arch very tight.
Sqauting with chucks are good for wide sqauters not medium-narrow sqauters , you would do better in construction boots or olympic shoes.
just my .02 cents at what i see.

I’m working on my elbows. The rotation is very difficult for my repaired shoulder.

I am wide stance. It may not look like it, but I’m pretty damn wide. But squat shoes have been suggested to me for the benefits of having a little heel lift.

And always appreciated!
Heed the advice I got from Lil power on those cable crunches and make sure you are not using your hips. Think of it as a weighted crunch in the kneeling positions, compared to a full situp which is more a hip flexion movement.
happy belated Mothers day-
squats looked pretty solid for being in a new suit
I like when you PL types break out the bondage gear
totally forgot about Mother’s Day. How was your’s, hope it was good?
Great work. It’s amazing watching your journey and I really appreciate the vids with the suit and hearing about the differences in style and the adjustments you have to manke.

Hey Snap!
Impressive as always! That suit looks serious. I can’t even imagine what it feels like. I love your coach. You two are such the odd couple!
Look at you with the ab work! I see you caved…ugh. I still refuse. REFUSE, i tell you!
hey snapper - did that little grass fire yesterday affect you?
It wasn’t near me. Just the fourth fire INTENTIONALLY started in my little district in the last month. (I work for the fire department so I’m privy to such information.) Today’s snow should help some with the dry conditions!
