Joe, I have to say that pie is delicious but I probably would not choose it over a delicious pastry. I hope we can still be friends after this.
Of course we can, this way we can divide the dessert world between us.

Russian sit ups will be my little bitches.
I can officially do 5 of them holding a 10 lb. dumbbell straight up in the air with one hand and not letting my legs come off the floor and counterbalance me up. My ART girl tells me that this exercise hits the lower abs which are weak in most people. I tend to believe her.
Off to ride up a small mountain.
ok, I’ll give those a try again today, and maybe take a vid to see if I’m doing them right!
your bike ride sounds nice…have you ever thought of getting spin bike certified? not the same as mtn biking, but could be fun…I’m looking into it myself.
ohhhh, the 45th page!!! who’s gonna lock it?

I think it was Maui. I can’t remember. It was a shore excursion while on a cruise.
Yay for little bitches! LOL
Good luck!
Did you make it back down the mountain? ![]()
I would definitely pick uphill riding over downhill.
I think the rift between you and Joe is irreconcilable. It’s one of those gaps in life that is just too big to be breached.

Its this sort of thinking that lead to the great cake vs pie war of 2009.
Betty if you put up a Russian sit up video, that would help me to see someone else try this. As for spin bikes…not my thang. If its not outside in the fresh air, cycling holds no interest for me.
Greeney, thanks! I am back down the mountain. A bit over 2000 feet of climbing on a beutiful sunny summer day.
Snapper, up is fine but down is thrilling. Why choose?
Joe, what cake v. pie wars? I assume that cake won. ![]()
Hubby’s birthday dinner was an an Argentinian steakhouse. I had a glass of cabernet, a filet mignon with chimmicuri sauce, a few bites of mashed sweet potato, a spinach salad with beets and pears, and some broccoli. Then down the street to the ice cream shop for a kiddie size sundae – check this out: peanut butter ice cream, coconut hot fudge sauce, heath bar crunch topping, whipped cream and a cherry on top.
Mmmmm. Stuffed.
I feel the same way about running. Outdoors surrounded by trees, birds and the fresh air - actually enjoyable. Inside on a treadmill - not so much.
And although it’s only 8.24am I am now craving sundaes. Damn you, Kimba! (The whole meal sounds fantastic. Will have to try that spinach salad).
that supper sounds divine…and russian little bitches FTW!.. no wait. that doesn’t sound right. lol. your going to have abs of steal Kimba.
She already has abs of steel.
Cal, you might be interested to know that today’s treat (after a 30 mile bicycle ride) was coconut frozen yogurt with mango topping. After a lunch of turkey burger with sweet potato fries and a delicious local brewed Belgian style mini-beer.
But now, alas, the hubby birthday celebration draws to a close. Back to cottage cheese (which I happen to love) and salads.

so I suppose the next level of awesomeness would be titanium…

IH lives on cottage cheese. He gets the kind with pineapple or oranges or peaches in it.
N., I can definitely work on abs of titanium. I rather like that concept.
Greeney, I get the plain kind and then eat it with fruit. Or slivered almonds in it is nice too.
F titanium. Carbon fiber is where its at.
Sunday AM training, quick-as-a-bunny before the gym closed for the holiday.
5/3/1 - Wave 7, Week 2, Sumo Deadlift and Bench Day
Sumo Deadlift
from risers using 10# plates
85# 1 x 5
105# 1 x 5
122.5# 1 x 3 <–working
from floor:
140# 1 x 3 <–felt good, went up easy
belt on:
157.5# 1 x 3 <–money set, failed on 4
135# 3 x 5 (supersetted these with bench)
I got the same number of reps on the money set as last month with no belt. But the last rep looked alot better this session. So that’s some progress, albeit snail-like. I recall Joe writing awhile back that instead of measuring 5/3/1 success by the money set, if the working sets got easier over time that was success too. And I really did feel that today.
Bench Press
Bar 1 x 5
52# 1 x 3
60# 1 x 3
68# 1 x 11 <–money set, not nearly a PR which is 16 reps
These are actually the Week 1 numbers because last week my tweaked shoulder was only at 95% and I chose not to bench. Good choice, because this week my left shoulder feels 100% healthy. YEAH! I am SO HAPPY about this.
Dips
BW 1 x 18
Dips don’t hurt anymore either! I am probably happier about this than bench.
Bulgarian split squats
12.5s 2 x 15 reps each leg
Strict form, trying to keep my knees from caving.
supersetted with
Neutral Grip Pullups
3/2
Off to assemble a cookout (swordfish on the grill).
Sounds like your getting all your aches healed up. Enjoy the swordfish.
catching up…but there’s too much cake and food in this log…thankfully my son is smoking ribs on the grill right down…lol. Glad the shoulder is doing better and love Zelda!
