Strong is Beautiful

happy dance yeah for pics!!!

edit: can we get tipsy kimba in short short pics 'cause that would be awesome.

N., because you asked – a short-short picture. These are my “hot yoga” shorts that I got for my photo shoot, not the ones I just bought which are actually gym-worthy.

And one more for the short-short lovers.

Perhaps I can wear this outfit as a bathing suit.

WOOHOO! short-shorts on a kimba!

N., thanks for the shout-out on bench! My lifetime goal is just to bench my bodyweight, which goal requires neither the 45s nor the 35s. My husband prefers the lighter brews, which I can drink but don’t love. However, he can be made to see the benefits of a tipsier wife.

DCA, on the naked training: you first.

Betty, you are hurtin’ me with that mental picture. Luckily your new avi is helping me get over it.

Joe, your priorities are exactly right. Guinness, however, I won’t touch. More for you!

I went a little bit out of my way today to hit another store and purchased cute shorts that won’t need double-stick tape. I may have fallen down and accidentally bought a matching tank top too. Pictures when its not dark.

I got halfway there today - I’ll leave the other half to you.

aw man…Kimba that ass is worthy of short shorts. you rock em. This is the image I’m bringing to bed with me.

good night!

you should thank me dog - that was shown per my request!

Hottie!! Those short-shorts were made for your booty. Glad I checked in

Boy, I sure picked the right time to pop back in after a little hiatus.

Seriously… those shorts look like they were TAILORED for your booty!

Absolute perfection!

x2

Kimba, I did hot yoga for a while until it became to difficult to schedule and I was stunned at how little clothing people were wearing. Of course I wore sweats and a tee to the first class and almost died so I know why they did.

Thanks for the kind words on the booty shorts. If I ever go to hot yoga, I’ll have something to wear. But that is unlikely.

Tonight’s training was fun. Or maybe I just liked wearing my new shorts.

5/3/1 - Wave 6, Week 2 - Squat and Bench Day

Bench Press
Bar 1 x 5 warmup
56# 1 x 3 <–working set
64# 1 x 3 <–working set
72# 1 x 12 <–money set, rep PR +1

Another good day on the bench.

Squats (3 risers/step)
Bar 1 x 5
77# 1 x 3 <–working set
88# 1 x 3 <–working set
100# 1 x 8 <–money set, rep PR +1
100# 1 x 5 <–still working on fixing the knee cave

The last few reps featured my trademark knee cave. If this lift is getting better, its very slowly.

Bulgarian split squats (strict knee tracking)
10 lb. dumbbells 3 x 10 each leg

Kroc rows
40 lb. dumbbell 2 x 10 ← on the second set, dead hang rest after 7 reps on left side, then finished the reps

Neutral grip pullups
2 x 3, 1 x 2

After the gym, there was a delicious dinner of bluefish, brown rice & seaweed salad. And a small amount of soft-serve (swirl).

Those shorts will do just fine!

you can see the effort working on the forcing the knees out, it looks like your body forgets until halfway up and then “oh yeah, get out there!”

you’re doing all the right stuff - just keep hitting it!

Look at that, two PR’s on the main lifts. Big time work.

You’re making progress on the knee cave and thats what matters.

Push those knees out Girl!!

nice work and those shorts are plenty fine.

Nice shorts indeed! And you do have some really long limbs, lucky girl.

Bench and squat PR is awesome!! Good work.

Also, you’re form on the squat is really pretty - no rounding, explosive on the way up. Me likey!

Diggin the shorts…

I wonder what would happen if you took your feet out a smidgen to widen your stance a tad…Have you tried before?

Also how cool is it that your gym was playing the Breeders, I saw them here in Birmingham years ago.

George, that’s a good point about forgetting about pushing out my knees until half-way up. I need to think about that out of the hole.

Joe, thanks for the encouragement and focus on the positive.

kmc, you speak the truth about the knees.

Mascherano, its nice to consider the better points of my squat as opposed to obsessing about the bad parts.

Betty, I have tried a wider stance and that just seems to accentuate my weaknesses. grrrr.

Today’s training was a 1 hr 20 min ride, meant to partially burn off that cheeseburger, waffle fries and Hoegarden (1/2 of it, anyway) lunch.

I’d take a slightly wider stance and point the toes out more, but your ability to keep the back angle constant once the hips go back is impressive.
