Thats five more than most people can do.

sorry about that… i’ll go back over to my corner naow.
I meant that sincerely. THANK THE GODDESS FOR CBEAR STORIES!

There will be nothing kimba-generated that is interesting today either.

Joe, thanks for pointing that out…most people can’t do pullups at all and I couldn’t do them either a year ago.

Another log full of awesomeness!!!

Just throwing around the word bukakke makes me smile - this is why i love PW.

As for your training, tiny wonder, I hear ya on the weak training sesh. This happens, you know it, and you’ve said it to me before, chin up and better luck on the next round. Altho you did get that 25lbs - so hooray for that.

I was also eyeing micro plates for the exact same reason - I just think these 5 - 10 lb increases are too much for me (esp on the DBs!), and I’ve yet been able to wrap my head around how to change the rep scheme to accomodate this. Would be much easier to just get the micro plates…

Btw, on what day do you do you air humps? On DL day? Just curious for future reference.

Hi Maschy! I usually do air humps on deadlift day. Mostly cause the bar is already loaded and on the floor, just inviting me to crawl under it.

I ran across an article about making micro weights from chain links.

Or, I can just buy them from Iron Woody:

http://www.ironwoodyfitness.com/fractionals.php

Now I must decide if I have more time or more money.

Get/make some micros already!!! I have been using them since my bench was around 100, and I am convinced that without them my progress on bench and press would be much, much slower. Kimba, your avatar is an inspiration to me every time I see it. Just wanted to let you know, I am motivated by your fABSulous self.

im starting to wonder if i actually told this story back in my left shoe…

i heard someone use “bukkake” the night before thanksgiving, and had to google it myself.

so im sitting at thanksgiving dinner, between entree and dessert, and i look around the table, deciding who to ask out of the people there… older bro, his friend, older sis, older bro’s gf, lil sis, mom, and dad.

ended up asking my older bro if he knew what it was, who shook his head while his gf had a giggle fit and bro’s friend dropped his jaw through the floor and into the basement.

I ended up explaining it to mom, older sis, and lil sis. dad had mysteriously disappeared.

mom’s reaction? “oh, that doesnt really happen. cbear straight face not after you’re married anyway. cbear straight face not past your 20’s. cbear straight face jesus christ don’t tell me. i dont want to know. you’re sick.”
ROFL. I never get to have conversations like this with my parents. Then again their both in their 80s and have had strokes. I wouldn’t want to kill them off…
Fortunately I have a whole harem of gay men I can talk filth with. Bukkake’s come up a few times, so to speak…

Never a dull moment when CBear’s around…

Anyway, just wanted to drop by and say ‘Hey Kimba.’ It’s not uncommon to have a crappy day so soon after a deload, don’t sweat it. You got another PR! Congrats!

T

I have the 2.5 lbs plates at my gym and they have been really uselfull in my bench press and overhead push/press. I’m sure the investment will pay off. just do it already (kinda like the conversation we had with my bands if I recall).

Owlie, thanks for your kind words. Your avi makes me hungry.

Cal, your harem sounds like fun.

T – having a crappy workout off of deload just seems wrong somehow. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

N, yeah I know I need to do something about the fractional plates. The pressing is killing me!

hang shoes from the bar

I own the most wonderful (ridiculous?) set of microplates. 1 lb., 3/4 lb., 1/2 lb., and 1/4 lb. I highly recommend them for anyone, but especially for those of you who are, umm, challenged in the bench like moi. My coach kind of snickered when I first showed them to him, but now he tells me to bring them to the gym all the time.

Oh, Kimba. I’ve got you beat. I’m at 21.5 years of marriage.

Masch or kimba you can use speaker magnets or any kind to micro load.

Cbear… when are you rolling to the big city.

Kimba I find air humps are the best after deads- or front squats.
If I do them on a day I squat I usually cant make it home

don’t have any immediate plans. something in mind?

Nah, you’re not the only one. The good thing is that the rebound, IME, is usually pretty significant. Within two to three weeks, depending on your training cycle, PRs will come!

Great Lifts!

Um…you, me, bacon and nutella?

Fractional plates: although shoes and chains and magnets might indeed work, I just ponied up for some pretty little plates at Iron Woody.

Why? Oh, I’m just a little bit sick of being stuck on presses (and frankly, on squats too) and was hoping throwing money at new toys might help.

Snapper, you’ve got me beat by 1.5 years. But we were both mere child brides…

T, thanks for the encouragement.

Maschy…I like the way you think.

Wednesday’s 5/3/1 “Off the Reservation” Day

Squats (3 risers/step)
Bar 1 x 10 warmup
75# 1 x 5 <–felt easy
95# 1 x 5 <–not bad, some knee cave
115# 2 x 4 ← got helped on rep 3 (first set), rep 5 (second set)
85# 1 x 5
65# 1 x 10

I’ve got significant knee cave going on at 115# – this damn weight just keeps on feeling heavy. sigh.

Walking lunges
15s 1 x the parking lot on a beautiful, warm spring day. Too distracted to count steps, but its a big parking lot.

Cable flyes
12.5 each arm 1 x 20
7.5 each arm 1 x 20
done drop set style, no rest

Triceps Pushups (but elevated on the back raise machine)
1 x 30

Goblet squats
30# 2 x 30 no rest

Chest supported rows
25s 1 x 20

Decline sits
1 x 30 - 8# med ball overhead with straight arms
1 x 20 - 8# med ball, side reaches

HS independent handle pull downs
90# (or so) 1 x 10

Some biceps curls on the cable machine

Cable hip adductions/abductions
12.5 3 x 12, both legs, two exercises

If the powerlifting stuff is frustrating me at the moment, at least all of this BB stuff increases my hotness. Which I’ll take, thank you.

so it was kind of leg, chest back and bi workout…do you guys coordinate what your gonna do, or you just wait til you show up?

I plan my peeps workouts, and I keep track of em just like they should be doing!

That sounded pretty killer!! How long did it take?

That’s a ton of work kimba!

My caving knees have come back as well, always gotta have something going on…

Wish it was warm and sunny out here. We had 6 inches of snow overnight and into the morning rush hour.

Googled goblet squat - another one to add to my list. Good stuff.

soldog: the word “snow” is taboo until november. Unless your talking about eating maple syrup off the snow

Don’t I wish! - I don’t know about Quebec but we have almost 2 months left of $**w season at my altitude.
