Strong and Conditioned (ChongLordUno)

Spot on brother

I can’t afford to have three day dom’s in my hamstrings any more.

Fit, strong and hard to kill mate. All else is superfluous

@dagill2 Absolutely mate. I hate being preached to by some IG wanksocket who thinks he can shame me with their roid fuelled motivational/lifestyle claptrap. Guys like me and you just have to keep chipping away

@kdjohn thanks mate. I know you and I have a similar outlook with regards to training and how to fit it into our life/relationships. You’re a machine

@kleinhound cheers mate. I’m humbled by your kind words. You’re one of the guys I respect hugely on here with your attitude to life and training

ROFL once again he proves he’s all about “spews for views”. This is plainly anatomically wrong

Amen!!! Glad to see you happy and progressing

This is genuinely why I talk about solipsism when it comes to training. It took me a while to get there, but once I started observing success in how I trained, I could stop caring about what other people had to say on the matter. I had a “discussion” with Jordan Feigenbaum over reddit where he tried to convince me that 5/3/1 didn’t have enough volume to be effective in spite of my own success with it, and I could be at peace saying “I genuinely don’t care about your findings or education, because my own experience dictates that this works for me”.

So glad you’re at that point dude. It’s huge. You decide on YOUR path and follow it irrespective of what anyone else has to say about it. You play the game the way YOU want to play it.

As he often does, @T3hPwnisher said it eloquently.

I think your post and mindset are absolutely on point.

Ironically, I believe I’ve arrived at the exact same place as you over the years with, what would appear to be, the opposite practice. I enjoy doing the bodybuilding style workouts more, now, because that takes my mind out of it. I was once a high mediocre athletically, and I can’t do that stuff anymore… whether because of age or injury or I simply don’t want to do what it takes (and let’s be real, the last variable is the most significant). I don’t like comparing me to me with that kind of handicap, so I like just doing something else. It’s way more enjoyable than “I’m ok with not doing what it takes.” I think you’re in the same mindset except the specific training goal is different - that’s probably the least important thing though.

Anyway, glad to see things are moving along and your headspace is good!

Jordan Feigenbaum is so self-righteous, and has this weird hate-boner for 5/3/1.

@aldebaran it completely flummoxed me. I can see where he’s coming from to be fair however i don’t share the same perspective as back = lats to me

@TriednTrue Cheers matey. Good to see you back

@T3hPwnisher Funnily enough, 531BBB produced some seriously juicy gains for me around 10 years ago. I done know why I never went back to that. It’s too easy to get sidetracked. I suffer from really bad bouts of fuckaroundatitis. No more!

@TrainForPain i hear you man. The mindset is similar. Taking the thinking out of training is key. To paraphrase a quote from @T3hPwnisher Dumb folk excel in the gym

This is exactly why I like just following a program, even though I know I’m a special snowflake and cookie cutter internet programs don’t work for anyone. It’s so much easier to just show up

How long is this program ?

It doesn’t have a time span as such @jibb mate

It runs in 3 week blocks.

I’m running a 12 week block, deloading then going into the Grey Man template

Shoulder has been feeling a bit tweaky this week.

That feeling that means one false move on the bench and you’ve snapped some shit.

Don’t know if it’s the chins or bench. The frequency is starting to kick in that’s for sure,

Have had to rearrange some forthcoming programmed blocks

Planning to go for Grey Man after the next block which starts next week.

That will mix up some lifts and bring in the OHP which I fucking miss hard. It’s my favourite lift.

Next block will bring me to 12 weeks of TBMP. I’ll run Grey Man for the same amount of time

Really digging 3 x a week training schedule. It fits like a glove

I’ve had shoulder issues before that I attributed to supersetting benching and pull ups. I might have been wrong, but that seemed to be the culprit for whatever reason.
