Strong and Conditioned (ChongLordUno)

Rambling suits the message! If you did a scripted piece on the need for chaos, it’d be too ironic, haha. It needs to just pour out.

That’s a good point mate

I’ll use that once the first YouTube hate comment surfaces

In a different topic i mentioned to someone that before he can become strong, he needs to define what is strong in his opinion. Then i remembered your log and wanted to ask you - what is YOUR definition of 1)Strong 2)Conditioned
I understand that the classic “strong” as squat/bench/dead is not what you would call strong, right?

Good question @hankthetank89 mate

Strength in the conventional sense as you’ve mentioned, isn’t a priority for me. Unless you’re a competitive athlete then when does it really apply to everyday life? Very rarely in my opinion.

Strong and conditioned to me, is the ability to…

Maximise effort at all times

Have the ability to work hard for extended periods

Be able to crank a fucking hard workout at a moments notice

Master bodyweight

The ability to traverse darkness and sustain presence

Being able to incorporate these attributes into your training plan will create the results people crave, regardless of what pursuit they follow

But for such wide range of goals it seems like you do very limited range of “effort”, no? I havent seen ALL your stuff but as far as i see i believe its mostly burpees, kbs and some calisthenics. How about 100, 200, 400m sprints? Carrying heavy stuff? Dragging, pulling? Fighting or grappling?
There is a guy i train who can do 100 burpees in 4min and that would be considered conditioned but he still gets gased as fuck after 2 mins of intense sparing which is not considered good.
When i was running half marathons below 2h at bodyweight of 240 it was considered conditioned but my high intensity stuff was terrible.
What im trying to understand is - how would your typical training routines make you conditioned to push a car out of a desert for example and do you believe it would condition you for that? I believe that doing burpees make you better at doing burpees, but not much out of that movement pattern. My strength goals are about few exercises but my conditioning goals are similar to yours but i cant find a way to fulfill them due to reasons mentioned so i wanted to ask what your tought are on this.

I don’t really get what you’re trying to say here

If I tried a 400m I’d probably gas out however my ability to master it quickly would probably be enhanced by living by the principles I made above.

Any new stimulus is going to overwhelm

And if I ever find a find a fucking desert in Scotland then you’ll be the first to know :joy:

Did a monster CVP session last night

Today I’ve started K.Boges pull up mastery program. My chins have plateaued so these focus on mastering the move as opposed to constantly chasing numbers

I also cranked out Tabata Clean and Presses with 2x20s

This redlined me fast man

Next step is clusters: a clean into a thruster. Very logical progression in that regard, and similar effect.

Absolutely slaughtering it dude. Gave your youtube channel a nod over on reddit in a thread on conditioning. You’re absolute and total “no excuses”,and people need to take notice.
