I did a podcast with him last year
Were you influenced by him to train exactly this way?
Absolutely
He was the inspiration behind everything mostly. YT channel, mindset and training
That’s evolved since then however
Fantastic combo dude! That was a lot of work in short order for sure.
It was actually not as intense as say, a squat movement however felt it would be a good chest and tris burn for the bodybuilders
I like to imagine your beard is pure fire in that thumbnail.
Haha aye it complements the lava
I was quite disappointed with this time after reading Fran times online
Tbh the DBs were quite unwieldy. A struggle
This killed me
Worth considering that Fran is done with kipping chins, whereas I imagine yours are strict.
You get good at what you do. I would say spend a month working hard on this and that 8.51 will come right down. The under lying fitness and strength is there. Its just a new way to demonstrate it.
I was going to mention this. If you are doing strict then its apples and oranges. Kipping pulls ups are both quicker and easier. There is no point comparing.
Yeah the chins were strict
I reckon I could get a better time with the KBs. The DBs don’t feel right on the squat. I was almost having to Arnold press them up
I will also say I went to try this with 20kg DBs and I could not do it. Barbell and Axle is much easier.
Aye man I hear you
The 16s were bad enough however there’s part of me thinking that the cumbersome will unlock some gainage
100%. I would say Fran is 2 lifts and you made both significantly harder (your thrusters are lighter but single arm is harder).
Your time is good. This is not an excuse to accept it. I dare say your still looking at getting sub 6mins? But again - apples and oranges. Unless you get a barbell and do kipping pull ups you can’t do a direct comparison.
This is a response to @T3hPwnisher Chaos Is The Plan blog
You absolutely nailed it dude! Adaptation is the enemy: never be comfortable.
Thanks @T3hPwnisher mate
At points I thought I was rambling however the message is strong one and needs to be put out there
