Yeah man, hanging in there

Have taken a break. Haven’t trained in 2 weeks.

Quarantined up!

Have no motivation actually. This is a fucking nightmare to be honest.

I’m stressed out of my tits. Missus has been laid off and she’s due in 3 months.

I was doing so well. I guess the challenge is taking a back seat for now :man_facepalming:

Going to start running and doing kettlebell work tomorrow. Just need to ingite the flame!

Been eating like shit as well.

Hope your good man

I’m really sorry to hear it man. That’s a very difficult situation.

The workout challenge doesn’t matter at all. We’ve got real life going on. I would definitely encourage you to do the running/ kettlebells/ whatever is good for you right now for the catharsis - I think it helps your mental game.

Good luck, and there is absolutely a light at the end of this tunnel. If it’s good for you, stay in touch on here even if just to vent. If it’s not good for you, delete it. Either way, you’re going to power through.

Just checking in case you read this @ChongLordUno. How are you getting on?

@TrainForPain

Hey mate, I’ve took a hiatus from all things training.

Pretty much lost all my gains :man_facepalming:

Mainly due to lockdown and my other half being pregnant there. She was very needy and demanding and I had to be with her most times

We had a little boy 2 weeks ago and I have managed to find a gym where I can start training again.

How are you? I haven’t been on here in a good while man

Congratulations all around! Really glad to hear from you. I hope your world is returning to as much normalcy as an infant can allow.

All good here - kind of same old, which is a good thing right now.

Okey doke guys and gals

Been back in the gym for the last month and starting to find my feet again.

Went into diet freefall during lockdown and sunk ever so slowly into the darkness that is yummy snacks.

And takeaway food.

Purely because the missus was pregnant and very very needy. Probably one of the toughest times of my life, mentally for sure.

Put on about 20lbs(rough estimate) I would say.

All gains went down the drain.

However it’s all about how you come back.

The gym I’m using doesn’t have any machines. Just barbells and DBs. Probably not an optimal environment with regards to BB.

No set workout. Just going in and doing what I can. Trying to get that love back.

Also managed to acquire an Airdyne bike so hopefully that will kickstart the cardio/recovery side of things.

Gym time can still be unpredictable as my new born is up all night and the 18 month olds sleep pattern is becoming erratic. If she hears the wee one cry then all he’ll breaks loose. It’s like whack a mole with kids crying. Very stressful and not conducive to 5.30am starts at the gym.

Will try and get my thoughts and training sessions into the log.

Anticipating the commercial gyms opening up so I can get back into a Meadows program again as I was seeing some juicy gains. Hopefully @TrainForPain can get involved again as it was fun doing the same program as someone from here

Good to see you back, hope you’re doing well. It’s ok to take some time off, probably you’ll come back better than ever!
Finished my first Meadows program and it was a blast. I’ll check on your Gamma Bomb progress as this one interests me

Welcome back!

I hear you, and I don’t even have a wife or kids.

Most def. I’ve been fighting to regain a desire to lift again.

I’m planning to do a four-day bodybuilding split for a couple months at Planet Fitness. I’ll have to make adjustments for a couple exercises like squats and deads, but I’m looking forward to the new style.

Let’s see some midsummer’s gainz.

Cheers matey

Plenty of gains to be had in PF I’d imagine!

Thanks mate.

Meadows was an eye opener for me. Was definitely seeing some juicy pre corona gains

For sure, same. i’m switching training right now and I see 4 x 10-12 on a machine and I’m like “uggghh booooring” I would much prefer split it in 2 hard sets on 2 different exercises

What’s up @ChongLordUno! Awesome to see you back! I know it’s stressful, but congrats again on the ever-expanding family. I hope the world gets back to normal someday and you’re able to settle in a little more.

I’m in to Meadows it up again for sure. Looks like we might have two more recruits in here as well. If there’s a program we all have, that would be super fun.

I’m on the road a bit for another month, then back in a more normal environment, so hopefully that timing works out for you to kick it off. It definitely kept me accountable to be doing the same program.

For sure. I’ve found my favorite way of training lol

Posted some pic on the Mountaindog group and got some nice feedback, was suggested Gamma Bomb, The Beyonder, and Carnage

Though I’ll start again later. I have to focus on conditioning for 3 months starting tomorrow.

I’ve never done Beyonder, but that one comes up in that group a lot. I’m getting honest with myself - I’m significantly less interested in the leg specialization ones!

As times passes by, me too. I’ve focused on legs for 5 years, since the surgeries. But I was just doing it wrong anyway, for my build, it’s leg press and machines that build them, not squats. Got great results there, but honestly I’m more looking for strong legs, and big upper body

Same! I’m finding a much narrower stance to be a lot friendlier to my knees and better for quads, for what it’s worth.

I will be trying low bar this time after one year doing high bar with a lot of success (better quad gains, no folding in half, and no shoulder pains).

I prefer the old school aesthetics anyways, and they didn’t have monster legs like the guys nowadays.
