Love a chongLord rant
The difference being that you EARN your deload.
I think the majority of trainees are so in fear of overtraining that they exist in a state of undertraining
I agree with this
Double concur. My deload week last week consisted of me still lifting 3x10 on my main lifts - whereas the people around me still moved FAR LESS weight than I on their ānormalā sessions.
Great old man rant though @ChongLordUno
Yeah man this is ultimately the jist of it. Really couldnāt put it any better
First time checking back here in a while. I see things are still essentially on the same track. Good stuff, inspiring as always.
Have a week away from weights coming up, vacation, and Iāll be thinking of you when I do burpees and manmakers.
As @OTHSteve mentioned, my break/deload is when something comes up. Like travel, sickness, injury. I have to force myself to backoff the intensity.
I was initially going to protest the Chong Rant also, until I saw this.
Defining ādeloadā as the above, yes I think itās important. Planned volume management is a super useful tool that can lead to supercompensation and huge gains.
Defining ādeloadā as time off from training, no, not necessary and should be saved for when life dictates it.
@ChongLordUno Tough crowd, eh?
Hey, we wouldnāt comment if we didnāt love that crazy burpee-happy bastitch.
a hit dog will holler
Dearie me, what have I done!
Ultimately I meant deloading as an excuse to do minimal work, practically no work
Itās a rant about the usual. Folk not working hard enough in the gym and wondering why they get fuxking nowhere. I was one of those people myself

Honestly though, I sometimes really want to do this, never pulled the trigger though bc not worth it
