Strive bench press Machine

Has anyone ever used this machine? It’s insane how much more weight i can use on it that i can regular bench. I know its suppose to be this way but i haven’t ever had access to any kind of machine before, and still the only reason i use them is because of i’m short on time. But my max bench is around 200 lbs, i only weigh 140 so dont make to much fun of me, but on the strive machine i had 2 45’s on each side and had a lil left in me, it was crazy.

Could you describe the machine? Is it like a Hammer Strength machine?

It’s called leverage.

Jared NFS: Yes its like a hammerstrength machine but actually a little more advanced, and it has different pegs to put the weight on to overload different parts of the movement. It has a guide the first set your suppose to overload the middle, second beginning, third end, and after the third set u put the weight on 2 differents pegs to overload 2 parts of the movement. Its really kinda odd, cool, but odd.

Bah! When I first started working out I would finish my sets of free weight bench then go on the universal machine with 250 lbs and get like hmmmmmmmmm 10 to 15 reps. So what I’m saying is that the strive is probably closer to free weight than the universal. But to answer your question. Your stronger because your essentially taking the stabilizer muscles out of the lift(which would be your weak link) and using just your prime movers. Next the lift isn’t exactly the same as a bench press. You do get mechanical advantage with the machine.

PS. Me tired grammer go boom!

It’s a machine, of course you can do more. You dont have to worry about balance, angle or anything. You can just spend all energy pushing in the direction it lets you, even if that pressure would result in free weights falling on your nuts…

2 45s per side would be 180lbs dude, thats less than 200. Does the machine add in the weight of the bar?

My bad guys i forgot to say that i did the 2 45’s on each side for a set of 10 on the stive machine. Sorry.
