I like melendez, but this fight clearly showed some weaknesses. I know that nate diaz and Gilbert will never fight, but nate would beat gilbert in my opinion. Gilbert got hit alot in this fight.
Hmmm…I don’t know…the fact that they train together opens up chance either guy exposing the other’s weaknesses. But from simple striking aspect(and BJJ game)…yes…I would pick Nate.
so where do you guys think Gil ranks? I havent been impressed with his last few fights and thought Josh probably should have gotten the W in this one. for a guy whose posse claims he’s the best 155’er in the world I’m just not seeing it. maybe Josh is just a bad match up for him, just dont think he would fair too well against top 5 155’s
I think he is below Maynard, Edgar, Henderson, and Penn. I would give him a good shot against Guida and Miller. Its just tough to say until he actually gets in there with the best fighters how he would do.

yeah i agree, guess they offered penn to fight gil and he’s still happy being retired.
i think cerrone and alvarez vs. gil would be some good fights as well. maybe strikeforce can bring in eddie, did he sign back with bellator or is he a free agent?

His contract will be up in a few months from whats floating around. He was ringside with Dana at last UFC on FOX…so I’m sure we will find out soon.
Was rooting for Barnett, but his striking was just plain ineffective. Seems like he quit after Cormiers takedown and ground n pound that left his face bloody. Cant wait to see Cormier in the UFC though, he has some serious potential.
Oh yeah and Barnett has one hell of a chin, Cormier was throwing some serious leather that landed.
