Hey everyone was wondering how effective is stretching between lifts are, for health and results. (antagonist stretching)
I’ve had tight lats and pecs cause I never stretched them. I’m guessing if my main movement is bench press if I stretch lats for 30sec. between sets that would be a good thing?
Same thing when doing rows and such, would stretching the pecs between sets be a good idea?
According to articles I’ve read here at T-Muscle, stretching the antagonists can help prime you for max effort sets (can’t remember who wrote about that - possibly Poliquin).
If that’s not a good enough reason, think of all the time that’s being wasted at the gym, in between sets (for most trainers). Stretching is a way to recuperate between sets that isn’t totally passive. I can never understand it when I see guys literally sitting around in-between sets.
