Stress & Cortisol

I recently had blood work done that revealed that I have VERY (like out of the “normal” range) cortisol levels. I am convinced that it is 100% due to my job, which is high stress and long hours. Working out probably doesn’t help either…

Anyway, I wondered 1. Have others who’ve had cortisol tested been high, even w/o stress (i.e. is it normal for a person lifting to have higher than normal cortisol?) and 2. what have people with high cortisol levels taken (both OTC/supplements and prescription) to bring cortisol levels down.

BTW, having these high levels of cortisol is a significant detriment to my training (as in I’m not making any progress), so any advice would be appreciated…
