Strength-Density Layer Approach

I’ve been using a strength-density later approach for several months and have been experiencing strength and hypertrophy gains (the former being my priority). On any given workout, I ramp to a max (either 3, 2, or 1) and then do 30 reps with 80% of that max.

For 4 weeks I ramp to a 3RM; 3 weeks I ramp to a 2RM; for one week I ramp to a 1RM and the repeat the 8 week cycle.

My question is this: can I alternate the density layer in favor of another strength layer every other week?

For instance:
Week 1: ramp to 3RM; then, 30 reps @80%
Week 2: ramp to 3RM; then, 3 cluster sets @90%
Week 3: revert to week 1 set up
Etc.

The intention is to alternate in this manner for the remainder of the 8 week cycle.

Let me know if this is worth doing.
