Strategies for Loose Skin

anyone lose a ton of weight and have loose skin? any tips on how to tighten and firm the skin with any supps? creams? hyaluronic acid i heard does well, but there has to be some better stuff?

save up ten grand and have surgery. I plan on doing this in the future.

I have a little left over from when I lost 64 pounds as a highschool freshman years back. I tried of any of these “magical creams” or anything that are supposedly out there, but I know it’s not as bad if you build up muscle mass to help fill it on more (make it less noticeable). Or maybe you just need to lose a bit more fat? Sometimes it’s easy to blame that extra last bit of chubbiness on loose skin, I sure know I’ve done that before.

Also…I know there are laser procedures that are supposed to permenantly tighten up the skin a bit. It’s much less invasive than surgery and doesn’t require any knives or anything (meaning no nasty scar or overextended recovery afterwards). If I had the money, this is the method I’d use ASAP. If you want I could get you more specific information.

I’m under the impression that unless loose skin is severe, surgery is NOT worth it. My mother had it done almost a year ago and she still has this nasty leftover scar. Who would want that? Not me, that’s for sure.

I think it depends on the amount of skin we’re talking about. If it’s not really bad, drinking lots of water can help and skimming off any excess fat with diet, exercise. I think it really depends on the elasticity of your skin.
d.

Surgery is definitely only for those who have HANGING loose skin. I don’t have any hanging loose skin persay.

And wheyman, i think you’re talking about titan tissue tightening. i’ve heard about it, but it’s only about as 30% as good as surgery. yet it’s the best anyone can do if they don’t want the nasty scar.

i’m gonna give it another 2 years, since i am only 20 years old. i lost about 90 lbs back in 2006. i just want to try out all the supplemental strategies out there. MSM, extra collagen, vitamin c, hyaluronic acid, DBEA…whatever? anyone have any luck with these?

Over 2 years I dropped 150lbs, unfortunately rather quickly. The leaner I got the more it tightened up, yet only to a certain extent. After losing so much I think I’m gonna eventually get some surgery cause the elasticity in my pec and lower ab area is totally shot. I think trying to build a solid base of muscle to fill in is a good idea, something I’m currently doing.

OK I would say hydrate yourself a lot, be VERY patient in losing the remaining fat (if you have more to lose), stick to wholesome foods and avoid the over-processed stuff, etc etc. I wish I had been way more patient in my fat loss cause that = less loose skin. Patience, discipline, intelligent planning for the long haul is a way to make up for overeating all that crap food over the years. I can say that cause I used to be an obese bastard, haha.

I never really used any supps for the skin except cocoa butter for stretch marks. From what I have heard by those who have used creams for skin tightening, they are hype.

Once again, developing that solid base of muscle underneath is going to really help.
