This may be the most expensive beer I have ever had, but I am not sure it’s the best. Who here drinks this stuff, and is it worth it to you?
I actually read the 300 word essay on the bottle and I kind of agree. It’s not overwhelming, but it did ruin the Brooklyn lager I drank afterward, (thus Ruination). Overall, I think there are other breweries that provide modestly priced beer that tastes just as good. A Victory or Dogfish Head perhaps…
I tried it once. It was a while ago so my memory of it is hazy, but I definitely wasn’t blown away. There are plenty of good IPA’s out there that can be had without breaking the bank. Dogfish Head definitely makes a good IPA. I haven’t tried one from Victory, but their Storm King Stout is definitely one of my favorite beers. Saranac makes a pretty tasty, less expensive IPA.
Hey, Beebuddy, just come out to Cali and see me and I’ll take you to the Stone Brewery and pour all the Ruination down you you could want. On me. I even know someone who works there, and they have a restaurant in Escondido that’s pretty darned good.
Their Levitation Ale is awesome as well. If you ever find any of their Vertical Epic brews, buy them no matter what – some of the original bottling recently sold on eBay for over $500 a bottle.
If you do ever bother to take me up on the offer, we can hit Pizza Port in Solana Beach for some of the best pizza and small-batch brew in SoCal.
My wife actually hasn’t stopped talking about moving to Cali all day! She applied to Stanford so we’d be pretty far from you it sounds like, but closer than I am now nonetheless, ha! Anyway, I’d have to come down to get some steroids in Mexico, lol. So we’ll be hanging out eventually here.

Wow, haven’t thought about that place since college - I used to know a waitress there that would hook us up all the time. Great stuff, but only go when bulking…

It’s about $8 a six for me. If anyone wants to figure out a deal with me for a case, I might be convinced to buy and ship.
Maybe the jack up the price in order to enter as many markets as possible? Who knows. I paid like 18$ or something.

It’s a good IPA for easy drinking. Their Russian Imperial Stout is my favorite product of their’s. Moylan’s Hopsickle is my favorite IPA.
I just bought a Moylan’s IPA 22oz for 6$ that I shall imbibe with an extremely awesome homemade bacon cheeseburger tonight. I’ll either thank you or curse you later! LOL.

Where was this offer when I was in the SD area in Oct.???
How much are we talking for this Ruination beer? I love IPA’s, my favorite.
I’d gladly make good – didn’t know you were coming last October. If you plan to return, PM me.

As much as I like IPA’s I might have to work out a deal with you, providing that brew is as good as touted.
Try it and let me know. I’m also big on their smoked porter, though super-hoppy IPAs and ESBs are my faves.
But truly the best way to experience them is at the source. Come see me. (Failing that, PM me if you want to do a deal.)
