Hey bunny, I had a great christmas. Saw some family and did gifts at my parents and then went snowboarding for a few days with my brother while he was back from Arizona. Unfortunately getting pretty sick again in the process but it was still fun.
One of the gifts I got from my fiance was a home-brewing kit with lots of extra flavor’s ingredients to make… cant wait to get started on one of the beers this weekend.
How was your Christmas?
Mmmm… home brew :)))
Hope you are feeling better and glad you had a good Christmas… I had a good Christmas, kinda quiet with the kids now gone and spread out across the country. My eldest son just came today for a visit and to exchange presents.
In hindsight… shoulda went to Vegas or the Carribean for the Christmas season… oh well…
deadlifts- i’ve been having trouble with the adductor i tore a couple years ago. sumo pulling and squatting in the same week keeps it constantly sore and i’m afraid i’m going to tear it again. I’ve decided to perminently switch to conventional deads to take a lot of the stress off the adductor. i went in today to test it out. i set up the risers to about two inches below my knees. i felt some slight strain but it was definitely doeable. i’ll slowly lower the steps as the adductor starts to heal up. i worked up to 675 tonight with only slight discomfort. who knows… i may end up being stronger with conventional.
elevated conventional deads
135x8
225x6
315x4
405x4
495x2
585x2
635x1
675x1- this is a tough spot to start from and it was a grind to get it started but the lockout was strong.
i’ll stick with this height through this cycle and then slowly work my way down, keeping a close eye on the adductor.
About the bench: Do you not have to keep your ass flat on the bench during the lift in your fed?
whoa, dude, are you that much of a raw cheater? I think Snapper just busted your ass.
also, if you have any questions on how to perform a raw conventional dead there is video somewhere in my thread of me doing said lift in competition. At my best bloated red faced weight. There might have even been some bacne that day. Who knows.

Good night. Doing the 5/3/1 powerlifting layout so just hit the prescribed 5’s this week and just tried to get some good accessory stuff in. Deadlifts wednesday!
My hamstrings were the most sore they have EVER been after those box squats and heavy hypers on saturday. Awesome.
Here comes a dumbass question…How long did this session take, from warmup to end? I’m kinda curious.

You got conventional DL questions? I’ve got answers.
Just kidding. Very nice work. Always enjoy the vids, even though your weights are just inconceivable to me.
About the bench: Do you not have to keep your ass flat on the bench during the lift in your fed?
i definitely might have some questions:)
the ass needs to be in contact with it at all times…definitely not flat. i’m assuming you are referring to my last video. it does look like my ass is coming off but actually i have a lot of ass and as use my leg drive my hips rise but my big ol’ ass is still touching the bench.

Side note: hope shit is ok.
i went back and read your entire new log… damn you are gett’n strong my ugly friend. I saw the 655 deadlift. looked like warmup weight. i also noticed that you are as ugly if not uglier than me. i mean that as a compliment because we all know ugliness is a sign of strength.
i’m sorry i haven’t stopped in lately. i sleep a lot lately… besides lifting, my daughter and work i don’t have a lot of energy for much else.
decided to switch to some push pressing for this cycle. today i just wanted to feel out what would be a good working weight for these. haven’t done them in awhile and it showed.
BTN Push Press
10xBar
5x95
3x135
2x185
*trying front push press
135 for a few…
155 for a couple…
185… shoulder hurting too much.
*back to BTN presses… lol
1x225… easy
Seated BB Press
5x95
8x135
8x135
Seated DB Cleans
3x10x20
*Superset Seated Face Pulls / WG Lat Pulldowns
10x40 / 10x100
10x60 / 10x120
10x60 / 10x120
No time for curls… had to go. Didn’t really follow the first week of 5/3/1 just because I was testing out push presses since we are gonna do those for a couple cycles. 225 is pretty easy for me… but lowering the bar back down to my traps is another story. I’ve maxed with 275 before but just dumped it on the pins because I think I would crush myself if I tried to lower that back onto my traps, lol. As for front push presses… no go right now because snowboarding last week I messed up one of the jumps and landed on my right arm kinda and it’s still hurting.
Even though the heavy weight is hard for me to lower I’ll probably base my max off 275 anyway, since it takes 90% of that. Plus, I think if I am doing them regularly I’ll get stronger at lowering the weight onto my back. Next weeks 3’s will be 175/200/225… so that should be a pretty good weight.
Rest of the workout was good… can’t wait to get back to deadlifting damn it.
Over the next year or two I will be building up my home gym, and that product is definitely one that will be included. However, as much as I love Schwab, and I know Jordan can make it rain, couldn’t they have put some hot chick in the video?

Man we really need something like that scott! That would be a great addition…
It looks similar to that thing up in the ab room… but not quite. I can’t wait to see what they have in the new gym on friday… hopefully it actually opens then instead of being delayed again.
Scott, we are training on tuesday this week not monday right?
