You read right - there was no way I was running or sprinting it though. We were told to try and do the work portion of the session at 3km pace which for me would have been ideally sub 5min/km. Reckon the pace I actually managed was closer to 5:15.
I did sprint the last 100m though…as if that made any difference…but my coach always used to be an advocate for finish strong.
I will hold my hand up and admit that since they closed the gyms here, I have really struggled to motivate myself to do anything. I have convinced myself that I will start doing some bodyweight stuff from tomorrow but I’m not anticipating a great after result.
Yeah, I fully accept that it is me flaking rather than it being impossible to work out from home. Just felt very ‘meh’ about the whole thing since we went back into lock down here. Hoping that I’ll get back on it for the final ten days.
Here is my photo - really disappointed with it. I had a great start and felt like I was really making progress. I was hitting pbs in the gym and felt like I was making the best progress I have in years and doing so whilst not screwing myself up with niggling injuries. And then…covid resurfaced as an issue here and the country went back into lockdown and I lost all real motivation. I’ve bumbled my way through a few home workouts but I just can’t find the same level of enthusiasm. Huge kudos to those that are able to do it.
Good on you for sticking it out and finishing mate. There are many of us who haven’t changed a whole lot or achieve what we wanted this year but we kept going and we got through. This isn’t the end, this is the start of our next phase to awesome.
