There are dates on all of them because I still have some sealed from last year. I usually mix them during the week so that end up eating mostly new steaks along with a few old one.
PX- I’m sure you’ve posted this somewhere before, but can you post the vacuum sealer model that you use? Would you buy the same model again?

Steak is one of the only things I never cook in bulk. I can only eat steak fresh off the grill, and I like it rare. Cooking it, then re-heating it in the microwave turns a good piece of meat into something that isn’t steak anymore.
I fully agree.
However, In the Doc’s defense, he just doesn’t have time to prepare and enjoy each steak that way.

Very true. Once Monday hits, if I plan to make it to the gym the rest of the week and have any free time at all for myself to just relax, I can’t spend 1-2 hours a night just on cooking. When I was in school I could get away with it because I was usually home before 5pm and I didn’t exactly have to study all that much to keep me from cooking.
The vacuum bags seem to do pretty damn well at preventing them from drying out. Mind you, I have had other lifters at my house who had one and they say the same.
Sealers are a must at my house, just don’t by a cheapo one, they don’t last. Wash the bags after using them to save a little extra money as well. They’re good for a couple of uses.
When they come off the grill to sit, I spread a little butter on top with a sprinkle of kosher salt.

It’s “seal-a-meal”, but I am not sure of the exact model. It usually costs me under 60 bucks though so I don’t usually buy the bigger more expensive ones…because like I said, if you use them like I do, they usually crap out in about 2 years or so.

I don’t reuse the bags. I freeze them, thaw them, and then cook them in the bag. The bags usually pop as they fill with heated air like popcorn…so the steaks “steam” a little instead of just getting nuked.

How many steaks do you eat per day?
That depends. When I am trying to do some “damage control” and avoiding all fast food, I can eat 4 a day but average 2-3 when I eat out for one or two meals.
That Kevin Levrone vid was interesting. I wish I even had the time to eat like that. I eat out more because I need the calories in less meals. If I could literally sit down and eat for every meal, I am sure my food intake wouldn’t be all that much different when leaning out even though his fish intake is off the fucking charts.

Are the bags Microwave safe? Aren’t you concerned about the plastic ‘leeching’ chemicals into your steak?

Yes, the bags are microwave safe and no I do not worry about “leeching chemicals”.
I think some of you are really fucking paranoid about things like that. I could see worrying about this if your life is simply FILLED with heated plastics, soy products and Zac Efron posters, but mine isn’t and looking at me, I don’t think I need to start worrying now.

And that was CONTEST PREP! Imagine what it must be like for him and others at his level during off season if they stick to (mostly) those same food choices! (Levrone is a freak of nature)

I do know that many of them do NOT eat as clean as some here seem to think. Johnnie Jackson is not afraid of pizza in the off season. He just doesn’t let it get out of hand…but it is clear from his powerlifting vids that losing his abs does NOT keep him up at night.

I’m not particularly overly concerned about the state of tofu and Zach Efrons eyebrows or whatever the hell hippies are into. but if people really think about how much they microwave shit in plastic then you realized that yes some peoples lives ARE simply FILLED with heated plastic. And cancer doesn’t only effect fat and over weight people. It gets the fit and unfit alike. So go ahead buddy enjoy your chemical steak. I’ll reheat mine in a sauce pot with some onions and garlic and olive oil, thank you.
Brotha, why are you stressing the plastic bags so much. In the end something is going to get ya, Steak, Plastic, Bus, Crazy white woman. So Chill and enjoy the ride.

I am doing just that 460. I love the ride, I’m just putting on my seatbelt, while I put the pedal to the metal. Getting road head all the way of course
