Do any of you guys know much about STD’s ? I’ve got a really strange situation. I recently took a std test and showed poitive for hep b & hpv 2… Weird thing is I did the test becuase I had a encounter a week ago and was stressed. When I went over the results with the lab tech she said that the results would not have shown positive had I caught this stuff a week ago.

HBV antibody testing is usually done as a panel. Panel testing will distinguish between acute infection, chronic infection, immune 2ndry to previous infection, and immune 2ndry to HBV vaccine. Your status should be apparent from the results.
HPV has many types (ie, subgroups), but I am not aware of one known as HPV-2 (and it definitely isn’t one of the sexually-transmitted types). Do you mean HSV2?
HPV is very prevalent in the adult population.
Most importantly: Rather than a lab tech and/or internet strangers, you really need to go over these results with your physician. Sincere best wishes for an uneventful outcome.

Yo eye dentist heres what it says since you are the only voice here that seems to actually know some med stuff…Thank you for real advice
HSV 2 IgG High 10.20 0.0-0.90 Index (May suggest early infection. If clinically appropriate retest at later date)
Hep B positive abnormal
Everything else was negative\ non reactive
To answer your question about testing it was a 10 panel test
For the rest of you guys that are saying divorce yada yada… Read the 1st entry… Yeah I had the encounter then tested positive 4 days later… Even the lab tech says its highly unlikely I got this stuff a few days ago… More then not its either a false positive or I caught it from my wife…Or Ive always carried it prior to marrige some people just dont show signs… I know this for sure cuz this was my first unprotected encounter in like 9yrs… So before you guys make my wife out to be a victim and me a evil bastard keep in mind this situation is likely a 2 way street…

I had originally posted some thoughts as to how the OP might “accidentally” discover that he has Hep B and explain it in a way that doesn’t point to it being a STD. After reading through maybe 1/10 of his old posts though, I deleted that advice. If I understand correctly, this guy:
Is at least in his 30’s and has 2 kids
Started frequenting strip clubs when his wife gained weight
Cheats on his wife with some regularity
Goes on 3-day benders
Complained to a friend about his wife’s weight within earshot of his wife
Can’t afford to spend more than $2,500 for a new truck (on which his livelihood depends), but somehow can buy breast implants for his wife (to reward her for losing weight), buy coke and E (whatever that is), frequent strip clubs and go on 3-day benders.
Is more concerned that his wife might get half of his money, than he is about the welfare of his kids.
I feel really sorry for this guy’s kids. His wife should divorce him, sue for sole custody of their kids and get whatever little money they have.
Oh ya, I remember that gem of a thread.
Yeah, so it’s HSV (genital herpes), not HPV (genital warts). The fact that you are IgG+ strongly suggests you have been infected for some time now; ie, is not consistent with a recent acquisition of the virus.
Simply not enough info. Here is a link to the CDC page concerning interpretation of HBV seropositivity:
I will reiterate what I said previously: It is of paramount importance that you bring these results to the attention of your primary-care physician. Not to be overly dramatic, but your life may depend on it. Again, best of luck for a positive outcome.

Thanks eye dentist…I will do that but I was thinking it would be best to retest in 90 days as the lab tech said…Then if I get the same results check with DR…
My concerns are… If I have the herps why have I never showed anything how come my wife never showed for it in any med tests…+ I never seen anything on her woman parts… If she had tested she never let me know… She gets a physical every year plus we’ve had kids so they would have tested for that stuff 4 sure then… My guess is she picked it up after our last kid
As far as Hep B most everything I’ve read says it clears up in 6 months… I think a retest for that in 6mo would be wise… If I do have chronic Hep B I’ll deal with it…
So on a clinical level I’ll retest in 90 then again at 6MO & if Im still positive I’ll see the doc and confront my wife

Just speaking for myself, but I’d rather be fat, weak, poor, and bad with women than have Hep B and HSV.

Out of all of that you think the wife did it? How often do you both go out on each other? Seriously dude, time to re-evaluate the reason for your marriage. You need to tell her. That’s it, no bs.

I guess I touched a nerve. All I did was summarize some of your comments in other threads. But I guess you’re right that, in today’s pc non-judgmental world, I shouldn’t have jumped to any of the obvious conclusions or voiced an opinion.
I do know something about Hep B, having been in the EMS field for a number of years and I know that it’s not something to take chances with. That’s why, in my first post, I advised you and your wife to see a doctor ASAP. Even if your body clears the Hep B, the people you’ve exposed to it may not be so lucky. Liver damage is irreversible.
Yes I am old, fat and weak (at least by the standards of this Forum). All of my posts to date have been to ask advice and I probably shouldn’t have gotten involved in this thread. Not sure if I’m good in bed or not. You’d have to ask my wife, as she’s the only person I’ve slept with in the past 20 years. I’m certainly not poor, but not rich either. I do manage to support my family though, try to be a good father to my kids, and try to be a steadying influence in their lives - not another problem that they have to deal with. I’m there when they need me and not off on a 3-day bender. Sorry if that last sentence came off as too judgmental.

lol, you sure do have a high opinion of yourself for someone with the herps
@ rockscar Thanks dont know the answer my quess is she has stepped out maybe 2-3 times. Maybe 0 who knows. Based on the info I now know I tested positive for herpes, however I did not pick this up a week ago. I have had is somewhere between now and 12yrs…Acording to what lab tech and research shows…Never showed signs or had any breakouts… I did not pick it up 1 week ago…Its unlikely to show that fast on test from what I’ve heard… As far as hep B I could have a acute case that clears in 6 months…Only way to know is a retest but I need to wait at least 90days for a acurate reading then test again 90 later for a full confirmation
If I bring it up to my wife she will just lie or we seperate. Maybe we both come clean who knows. Just to clarify whatever I have she has too I did not catch this stuff a week ago. If after 6 months my test confirms chronic hep B I’ll tell her as we will both need medicl attention.
Also the reason Im pretty sure if its chronic hep B she gave it to me is…All my step outs were protected except the last…
@ the dudes that cant read well…So all you guys making me out to be the vilian and my poor poor wife a victim recognize that we’ve both been shits… So she’s no saint either…All your woman loving grandstanding means shit cuz you dont take 5min to read the post… Yeah if shes been a saint & Im a cheating dirty bastard your comments might mean something but since that aint the case choke on some dick
what evs… Thanks eye dentist and rockscar solid advice… As usual another Tnation thread gone Enation…Just another elepahant walk the same ol up tight high & mighty internet tuff guys holding each others cocks… njoy… Im out bitches
