State of The Union February 2024

Bwahahahahaha!!!

Total garbage POV. Reading your posts is like listening to Rush Limbaugh.

To end it but the politicians will cry there is no money for it, all the while they send billions off shore to fund a war. MMT used for evil. The Congress has the power of the purse. If the votes are there, the issue gets funded.

So don’t try. Is that your solution?

Unfortunately I’m relegated to voting as an action point here. It’s not a high enough priority for me to go out campaigning/fundraising/protesting et cetera.

And my vote goes to whichever relevant candidate is proposing to slash or at least slow entitlement programs among other things. This is how voting works, fyi.

Such as wars?

Ask not what your country can do for you…

Are we throwing darts now? I was glad to see an end to war in addition to peace keeping diplomacy……

I’m not sure what you’re mad at but go yell at the clouds or something.

No, just seeing if you’re as pissed at war spending as you are social programs. A lot of people say they are but are only vocal about being against social programs.

Trump is way more punk than him.

He’s more gangster too, more of a man and more of everything except musician and once-relevant contrarian.

Beavis and Butthead’s social commentary was a lot more sophisticated than Mike Judge ever got credit for. He perfectly explains punk rock through the character of Butthead in two simple words in the first 10 seconds of a Rancid video.

He’s a relevant contrarian! And willing to take action instead of complain.

The thing about musicians that think their job is to complain about stuff is that if you did what they suggest, they’d be the first to go.

They don’t realize that how lucky they are that their audience is a bunch of lazy middle & upper middle class future thems.

Conservatives are the new punks… liberals and leftists are big state ā€œbootlickersā€ their favorite term… the most annoying thing about those rejects is their complete lack of self-awareness

Object to what…be specific

I didn’t bother to look up your previous comment so I’m guessing here. Your objection to spending on social programs vs. war.

Yeah I don’t know. I like steak when it fits my needs but I hate kale.

War is a social program.

Depends on the war…yes means i have no issue with government spending on the following examples

WWII…yes
Korean War…no
Vietnam War…no
Iraq war…no

depends on the social program…yes means i have no issue with goverment spending on the following examples

special needs or handicap funding…yes
Arts…no
Subsidies for businesses…no
college payoff…no

Yeah for the defense contractors. Any wonder why we are involved in so many conflicts? But the difference between the military and social programs is often understood in separate contexts.

College’s are businesses that happen to teach classes on the side. They get special tax treatments.

And they shouldn’t, but i was talking about student loan payoffs
