You can break free though. Nevermind becoming legitimately wealthy, you can pretty easily rise above a paycheck to paycheck existence where obtaining survival basics isn’t even a second thought. And this is a vast improvement over being left to your own devices battling nature for subsistence. Go get your freedom.

Dookie was one of my favorite albums when it was released. They even had a point with American Idiot, although I had moved past punk at that point in my life.
Rage Against The Machine are another band desperately pretending that the shallow politics that drove their success in the 1990’s are still somehow relevant in 2024, with all of the boogeymen they railed against long gone from political power.
The new punk rockers of 2024 are, sadly, Christian conservatives.

You said it’s been done in Norway and a single Utah city? Maybe it works. I don’t even know what it is. But success in one American city doesn’t guarantee success in the rest of the country.

Besides, we don’t give money to foreign countries. We’re buying something with that money and some of it is going back into the pockets of politicians and their buddies.
I was never into DC comics.
I don’t have time to track down common sense hidden behind spun dialogues.
An addicts addiction isn’t my problem to fix, and I would circle back to charity vs forced financial participation via taxes. Disagree if you want but it’s not my problem. End of story for me.

Since tax dollars are already going for social programs that do not work as nearly as good, wouldn’t it make more sense to have them spent on things that actually work-that cost less.
You participate in endless wars. Is that something you object to or is it only social programs.
