That is a great feeling. I’ve done that a fair bit the last few years just not as technically correct. The guys love it, and they have a shitload of confidence in the stuff I build, repair, or create.
I’ve always done it with work processes. My idea is that if you can remove a single step in a process and a quantity of time, you’ve done something great.
Most blue collar types are just whiney deconstructionists. They’ll tell you all about what sucks, but nothing (realistic) about how to make it better.
No, it means that I question the assumed truth of reality and those who promote it. You choose the easier path to believe the bullshit. To you, a person who realizes there are roadblocks put into place on purpose, are just whining. So redlining would be just whining if you complain about it. If there is a way around it you will say see, see told ya so. If one person can do it, why not everybody. Instead of questioning why those roadblocks are put there in the first place you just call everyone who complains about the problem a whiner. Congrats in drinking the Kool-Aid.
But is it balanced when the owners scale down the crew to a skeleton? And they fight it. Take away their sick days. And they fight it. Can anyone say Railroad workers.
Yes, but there is a return on the investment there - or at least should be.
I fully realize the roadblocks and do indeed wish for may of the them to change. I also realize I am a peon in an oligarchy that ain’t going away any time soon, so I better learn to play the game in order to support myself and family.
Says the guy who thinks Marxism is the answer…
Strawman argument. That’s what you do, reach for something nobody is discussing and assume it bolsters you point. You look foolish.
Name a roadblock in your life specifically that’s not self-imposed.
No, I specifically called those like you a whiner. You contribute nothing and leech off the very system you claim to hate, Making you a giant hypocrite.
I don’t believe in the pulling yourself up by the bootstraps theory as it doesn’t work in every case. However, for probably at least 95% of the people, some self accountability and a bit of work can move the line.
Life is hard. Life is Dukkha (suffering in Pali). One can complain about it which makes it worse, or learn to live within it.
You believe Marxism would work when recent history has proven otherwise…talk about Kool-Aid consumption.
So you complain about the system(capitalism) but realize in order to survive you must play inside the parameters. Sound familiar? What would you do under another system?
Says the guy who is left with a choice of tinkering around the edges as a means of positive change.
It is germane to the point.
Did the slaves complain about their situation or women who complained about not being allowed to vote. Did these complaints make it worse?
And you believe in the internal contradictions of capitalism, when the evidence is happening everyday around you and you can’t see it because you’ve internalized the propaganda.
The answer is no! You cannot have an imbalance in workers and owners power. What happened when they scaled down the crew to a skeleton? What was their primary goal?
I agree. Neither should have legal power over the other.
Who? Are you talking about a real-life scenario, or is it hypothetical? If a crew is scaled down, it either cuts unnecessary costs or results in an inability to do the job.
