Starting TRT Injections. Any Issues I Need to Be Aware Of?

Horse before the cart in this instance. Most medical sites and manufacturers are a bit clueless as to what works in the real world, and, in my experience, the typical starting dose is 250mg E2W. For most, it doesn’t work well due to the aforementioned half life issues.

Most of the people responding here are responding based on personal experience, and not on drug company recommendations. Many doctors follow the big pharma recommendations because they don’t know any better and don’t want to get sued.

The general consensus of experienced TRT users is at least E7D starting at 100mg. Many have chosen to inject more often, some subq rather than IM. Many inject EOD to maintain stable levels.

Personally, I’m fine with E7D, kind of feel better at E5D, but get tired of shooting - so much so that I’m off TRT now for three months.

Doctors, other than dedicated TRT doctors, rely on the manufacturers. Those dedicated to TRT have a better grasp and typically recommend at least E7D.

At your current dose, of 100mg E2W, you’ll probably just shut down endogenous production and the shots may get you to test levels of 500 - not really worth it IMO.

I started with a TRT doc at 100mg E7D, eventually titrated up to 140mg. My trough test levels were about 650 on that dose. You’re much bigger than I and on a third of the dose I was on.

Keep reading, have a bit of trust in most of the guys here, don’t get suckered into making TRT your life, and rock on.

Perfectly written as usual but I have to ask… Did the positives that came from TRT not outweigh the small inconvenience of injections or did you not really get much from TRT making the extra inconvenience not worth the effort?

Great question.

I got jacked on TRT and I enjoyed being on it. Eventually, I had mental health issues not related to TRt and just wanted to be clean. And, I got tired of my balls being small and horny as fuck all the time, so I’m off for now.

I will probably get back on soon since I am now skinny AF and my libido is lower. But, my balls did come back and I feel ok being off - not as crazy as I was.

I was on for four years and just quit, no PCT, and am back to normal. Big balls, low T, running about 300, but less crazy.

So, I don’t know. I still have tons of T in my drawer, might jump back on at any moment, but kind of enjoying being more chill.

That’s funny that you say that, because I was bat shit crazy (emotionally speaking when dealing with people and general life trials) with very low levels, but now that I’m on TRT and taking DHEA, I am MUCH more chill. Things that used to set me off I can take in stride now.

Weird that we see completely opposite effects!!

Yeah, maybe the DHEA is the difference. My TRT was doc administered, but I pretty much ran it. He never checked those levels. I was wide eyed, knew what I was doing, but a little more chill now being off.

How your libido being off?

Not as good as when I was on, but it’s okay. I’ll probably go back on in a while, but just going to see what happens for now.

Your doc is reading the label and prescribing. They added this label for law suit protection. If anyone takes the meds properly they cannot hold them liable if any issues arise. Why? Because every other week doesn’t build t up in the system as it is supposed to. A nifty way of avoiding any consequences. There was a time where they were suing left on right due to trt. You know lawyers. They go for the money.

Do yourself the favor and Go look at the half life of cypionate and google a calculator half life. It should be clear as day.

Every single Trt specialist in the country suggests weekly at minimum with cypionate. Most suggest daily or every other day now.

Unfortunately Your doctor is not versed in hormone therapy. They don’t teach endos and urologists hrt or trt. If you ask the doc he will tell you . If he had taken courses and further education or even looked online he would agree with us.

I would trust men who take trt over a doctor with Whome everyone disagrees.

I did talk to my doctor about weekly injections and now I’m getting 100mm each week. After the 1st dose I did experience a low for the last 3 days so he approved the additional doses after an additional blood test.

Before injections
Total T: 292
Free T: 12.6

1 week after injection
Total T: 707
Free T: 27.5

Thanks everyone for the tips

You got tested again only 1 week after starting your protocol? When is your next blood draw?

If these labs are drawn before 6 injections at 100mg, then your levels will be higher in a couple of weeks. These labs are excellent, peak levels are likely higher.

He still has natural T being produced on top of injections right?

That’s what I would assume if only on a protocol for 1 week.

I think the next blood draw is in January month unless i ask for a sooner one.

So far I’m still feeling great and not feeling the loss that I was before

The draw was 7 days after the injection. I’m not getting the huge rush of energy for 3 days after the injection but feel like things have leveled off. Before I got a big high after injection and hit a low towards the end. Now I see a slow decline and still feel good the day of injection

I’m sceptical if dosage could end up going up in the future. Keeping a close tab on how I feel

Another great side effect is I’ve put on 10lbs and lost a little fat since starting injections. Seeing much better progress in weight I’m using in the gym
