The way you think is interesting. It makes a lot of sense actually.

one rep range while adding weight constantly is a better approach for peaking rather than building.
[/quote] makes a lot of sense too. I think someone like me that really needs some weight gain as well as simply getting stronger, because my numbers are so low, peaking may not happen for awhile. And, with the principles I’ve learned I think I have a good idea of how to build efficiently after my “peak”.
You completely understood my thoughts on both programs.
I think you overestimate the resources that Mr. Rippetoe has at his disposal to combat something as hard to pin down as online piracy. Rationalize it however you like, but you are lying to yourself if you think that anyone who makes a living selling books is okay with people not paying for the books.
This doesn’t make you a horrible person obviously, but I’d encourage you to ponder the ethics of stealing content and also starting a thread telling other people where to get the pirated content. I think I paid $22 for my copy of Starting Strength on Amazon. It is easily worth $28. Money well-spent.
Back on-topic, I think you should run the hell out of Starting Strength. You already talked yourself into it. You believe in it. It will make you better if you work hard, just like any other reasonably well-structured program will.
Commit to it and then do it. Watch your numbers go up and get hooked. Good luck to you.

Oh he cares, trust me. Just because it’s there doesn’t mean you should take it. It can be very difficult to get stuff taken off the web - cache’s can be forever.
