Starcraft II

If you do a digital download, is it set permanently to your computer? or can I go to my buddy’s house download it and play at his computer as well?
Your ability to play is directly linked to your Battle.NET account, meaning no matter what version you buy (Digital/DVD) you can play where ever there is an up to date copy of the game client installed.

That’s another thing: Is anyone annoyed with the upgrades that are available in the campaign, that aren’t available online? I’m talking about the Terran upgrades, like the fucking guns on the bunkers - what a great idea! Not available in online play… BULLSHIT! I want my bunker-guns!
Ya cause they wouldn’t break the game or anything(I’m assuming you know this and were being somewhat sarcastic). I can imagine the dismay of a straight sc newb who plays the campaign then heads to MP expecting to wreck face with medic+marine+marauder, have gas harvest itself, not have to upgrade to orbital command, etc etc.

Does anyone know if they’re going to charge $60 for the Protoss and Zerg expansion packs too? That’d be some serious bullshit and could well dissuade me from getting SC2 at all.
Did you pay for brood war(well you didn’t if you copied it), did you pay for halo 2/3? How about any sequel to a game? Have you ever seen a sequel to a movie? Did you pay for that? Yes? Then why the fuck would you think they would give 2 games away for free?
There’s a world of difference between a sequel and an expansion pack, buddy. Expansion packs add content to a previously existing game, sequels are stand alone games. My complaint was not about having to pay for the additional campaigns and other content that would come with the expansion packs. My complaint was about potentially having to pay as much for Starcraft 2, which comes with a new engine (I think), multiplayer capabilities, Terran campaign, and all of the other features, as an expansion pack which would only be adding content to the original game.

Think of it like this: You’d expect to pay as much for Half-Life as Half-Life 2, or as much for Morrowind as for Oblivion, right?

Would you cry foul if Valve charged as much for Half-Life 2: Episodes 1, 2, and 3 as Half-Life 2? How about if Bethesda charged as much for Tribunal and Bloodmoon as it did for Morrowind?

Try actually understanding what someone is saying before posting some diatribe next time, kay?
The Terran campaign is the equivalent of a stand-alone game. If they elect to charge full price for the Protoss and Zerg campaigns, I’d have to assume they’d have just as much, if not more, content.

Anyone else think Kerrigan is pretty damn cute in her flashback cinematic?

Also, Dr. Hanson would totally get the business.
RE: Kerrigan - I’d hit that.

RE: Hanson - SPOILER ALERT

I killed that.

There’s a whole shit load of us playing right now…

I got the game early, I know many spoilers.

Like who the real traitor aboard the ship is.

MangoMan - 801

Add me… still undefeated in placement matches lol

IDK how to post replays, but YouBurnEasy and I just went 4-0

DAMN IT I I WANT TO GET THIS GAME TODAY. I’m trying to get all my big errands and responsibilities checked off the list though before I do, because I know once I sit down and install SC2, I might not get up for 10+ hours.

It’s good to hear that the campaign is so good.

My character name is BigJT Charcode: 143
I’ve played with Tyrant, aznt0rk and Anonymity, so far we’ve been killing it in team matches!

you need to save it to your pc, then upload the file and post it.

Upload like to youtube?

Upload to a file sharing site like megaupload or something, then post the link.
I dunno if there’s any major sc2 replay sites yet.

theres a few if you google. But yeah then to watch someone elses, you download the file, then click, and drag and drop onto sc2’s .exe file and it’ll play it.

Red and I were 3-1 this morning.

I’m sure you’re just being modest not pointing it out so I’ll brag for you:

Dude basically won a 1v2 in our last game cause we got 1 base all in’d by 2 terrans(I watched the replay and they worked it pretty well too, 3 rax MM from blue, 2 fact 1 starport from red since blue would have to waste tech getting the medivacs). Also we should’ve raped blue if we scouted cause he didn’t wall or anything, just stacked his racks right in front of his CC. I need to improve my macro so I can scout and not lost building time, definitely a weakness.

Anyhow back to the story, apparently(I left as my base was being torn apart assuming we lost) we held off their tank line creeping forward long enough for his expansion to fuel his tech and he won with some beastmode Ultralisks tearing through that bio ball.

Edit: I just checked the replay again and noticed that they were both sitting on 3k minerals and not rebuilding anything when I quit, no wonder you ended up winning that they were entirely tunnel visioned on that push. Still a solid carry on your part though =]

As someone who has never played Starcraft before ALL of that sounded like gibberish. The great thing about that is you guys who do play it know exactly what happened and are enthralled by what took place in that battle. It’s one of the reasons I love video games when your totally immersed in the world and the vernacular. Carry on Gentleman, I salute you.

Haha, yea it’s funny(awesome?) how when you get into any hobby with it’s own vocabulary that you don’t even consider how you are describing it, until someone points it out. That’s why I have great respect for commentators of all kinds(sports, video games, etc) because it takes a distinct skillset to describe what is happening in a timely fashion while including a casual viewer.

vocab? over on teamliquid it’s another damn language. Scouting is also my biggest weakness, I forget to do it all the time, in fact me, tork, and rich had a game in the bag. We early rushed with like 12 zealots an lings and killed one of their guys off, then got held off by some vulture micro. Their zerg early expanded and had like 5 spine crawlers sitting on it protecting, and we managed to lose because the zerg got mutas’ and micro’d our econ to death while the terran’s 12 thors kept our army busy. Because we didnt scout…

For some of you guys getting into the game, DJWheat does a show every sunday with Chill(the strategy forum mod at Team Liquid, and a pretty damn good player) that started out as a way for Chill to teach Wheat the game so he would be a better commentator for it, and has turned into a weekly show to teach everyone. Either they’ll go over a specific topic(like rushing, or countering an all-in rush), or watch a replay and break it down, or something along those lines.

The show(Weapon of Choice) starts at 2pm est.

For overall gaming enthusiasts he does a show right after called Live on Three that is just general ranting about different gaming/esports topics every week.

djwheat.tv is the site.
