Starcraft II

Although like I said before probably not gonna MP much til I finish up some SP/achievement stuff(fuck you covert ops challenge, fuck you).

Oh and as far as build orders go I’d assume liquipedia has sc2 ones up by now, and of course there’s the team liquid strategy forums, and you could just watch a stream of a top player of your race for like 1 hour and see a healthy variety of builds. Lastly, like someone else mentioned, the data contained in this games is far superior to any rts before, if you watch a replay you can see things like worker numbers and income, army value, current production, unit lost value, etc, in a drop down tab in the top left.

Ranked #5 in Platinum league in 1v1.

Won 8/9 games last night in 2v2 and 3v3 with some buddies.

“Fandango” is my game name.

Build orders are good in the beginning, but when something goes differently the build order will likely go to shit. This game is all about scouting and knowing what your opponent is going to try and build. If you know how to counter different unit types then you will do very well.

Obviously scouting is important, but especially for a beginning player, knowing a ‘safe’ build and mastering it, and actually learning how to play the transitioning stage of the game is a great start. Then you start to learn how to scout and make risky(or safe if it’s needed) builds based on the info, but that would still be considered a ‘build order.’ You are just adapting which BO to follow based on information you gain. I see no reason to not research the optimal build orders for a few different starts(fast expand, rush, rush prevention, or just an overall balanced build like Tester’s 2gate).

We are on the same page red04. Having a basic build order for the beginning of the game is a great idea. My point was that I feel like some people try and use this “perfect” build order for the entirety of the game. Obviously this will not work because your opponent will adapt to what you are trying to build.

Nice stats, can’t wait to start playing with all of you. One more day.

Damn, we got some pros in here! I decided to do the campaign first, and am doing placement matches so I can stomp some noobs for fun. Then it’s on to the leagues! We’ll see how I place…

Also, my name is Xabrophazon and my character code is 599.

If you say you’re that good, then maybe you should join Anonymity and I for some 3v3. We have been raping fools left and right…

What is your # code?

I’m not saying I am THAT good. I know how to play the game, but I may have gotten some easy matches against poor opponents. I think it would be a good idea to get a clan or a group of T-Nation members so we can play together and whatnot. I am at work right now, but I will check my # code when I get home this afternoon.

As far as the stats go, personally I think the divisions will alter some good player’s records because they will be playing a better opponent. Being 10-0 in the Bronze division is not saying much versus 5-5 in Gold, Diamond, or Platinum. I am just so happy they nailed this game. It really is a blast to play, especially with friends.

EDIT…

I am only really good with Terran to be honest.

just added a few of you guys, mines Steel - 574

I have no idea about anything about this game. But it seems like a form of electronic crack to me.

You know enough.

Anyone else think Kerrigan is pretty damn cute in her flashback cinematic?

Also, Dr. Hanson would totally get the business.

Oh and Brutal is so hit or miss, some missions are a complete cheesefest and no harder than normal, and some are retarded brick walls of pain(hi Supernova). Maybe I just suck /shrug.

Fuck. The campaign just sucked a straight 18 hours of my life right out of me. I feel young again! Raynor’s an alcoholic. How he can function so well, and have such jacked arms while drinking so much damn whiskey is a mindboggle to me.

Just started playing online this morning, even the noobs are decent opponents and I consider myself a Starcraft veteran!

In Brood War I was Terran all the way, and respectable with Zerg (I never play Toss…), and while it feels like I’m playing the same game - I feel like I have to learn everything all over again. I don’t like it.

I could play Terran while drunk in Brood War, but that’s not going to fly here. Much more attention is required. I miss my Goalies.

That’s another thing: Is anyone annoyed with the upgrades that are available in the campaign, that aren’t available online? I’m talking about the Terran upgrades, like the fucking guns on the bunkers - what a great idea! Not available in online play… BULLSHIT! I want my bunker-guns!
