Does anyone know if they’re going to charge $60 for the Protoss and Zerg expansion packs too? That’d be some serious bullshit and could well dissuade me from getting SC2 at all.
Did you pay for brood war(well you didn’t if you copied it), did you pay for halo 2/3? How about any sequel to a game? Have you ever seen a sequel to a movie? Did you pay for that? Yes? Then why the fuck would you think they would give 2 games away for free?
There’s a world of difference between a sequel and an expansion pack, buddy. Expansion packs add content to a previously existing game, sequels are stand alone games. My complaint was not about having to pay for the additional campaigns and other content that would come with the expansion packs. My complaint was about potentially having to pay as much for Starcraft 2, which comes with a new engine (I think), multiplayer capabilities, Terran campaign, and all of the other features, as an expansion pack which would only be adding content to the original game.
Think of it like this: You’d expect to pay as much for Half-Life as Half-Life 2, or as much for Morrowind as for Oblivion, right?
Would you cry foul if Valve charged as much for Half-Life 2: Episodes 1, 2, and 3 as Half-Life 2? How about if Bethesda charged as much for Tribunal and Bloodmoon as it did for Morrowind?
Try actually understanding what someone is saying before posting some diatribe next time, kay?

I will be purchasing my copy on Saturday, making sure to close out this month strong work wise. I cannot wait to get cranking online with the T-Nation crew, my inner nerd is amped.
Anybody find any good build order data sheets online yet?
You won’t need them. The post-game stats are so in-depth you can basically see everything everyone was doing just by looking at the numbers. It’s actually a big strength of the game so far.
Yeah there are soo many different stats and graphs to look at post-game. Very helpful. Also, i’ve been checking out a few replays to see how others are doing it.

So I been playing the campaign lately, but I tend to keep freezing up with my NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX when I am on the ship or in cutscenes

ahh cmon…you dont need no cheat sheets…let your inner nerd tell you how to play.
My inner nerd loves having access to numbers and statistics though. I’m excited to see the post game data.
Alright i’m starting to really get the hang of this game now. The best strategy as of right now is to hit the back of opponents base as quickly as possible - always avoid head to head battles…It’s worked almost every time so far tonight.
I don’t remember sc1 strategies being quite as focused on hitting the back of enemies bases.
Still not good enough to use special units that can cast barriers and psi-storms and whatnot.

Can someone toss me a guest pass so I can try it out? Still not 100% sure I ought to buy it now at $60 or wait for a price drop. (The urges to buy the game are becoming intolerable)
Can we create a list of names so we can all add each other on Battle.Net?

The price will not drop within the next year, just man up and buy it.
