Yea the strategy and build orders are going to be insane. I can’t wait to see the professional leagues.

The build orders all seem very random and different for each race. There isn’t anymore straight up tier 1, tier 2, etc kinda builds. Also each unit seems to be a lot more complex. Tons of very different skills to use throughout each race.

Nice, total domination.

Any instant thoughts or reactions to the game? How do you like it overall? How is BNET?

As I mentioned before, were going to need to get a [TEST] clan together.

This game is so much different than the first. It’s going to take a lot of getting used to as far as different builds and strategies. Just getting by on my above average macro-management for now.

My first thoughts are how much balance they have added to the game. You can no longer get away with mass producing the cheap units scout/hydra/muta. You have to go with a diversified force. Unless you are trying to do a carrier/bc mass - which seem to be too expensive to do anymore. Overall the gameplay of the battles is better. Single player campaign is pretty cool so far. I am waiting to see some of the custom maps people come out with. I have only played a couple hours so far but I can tell this game is going to be pretty epic and waste a lot of my life.

If anyone wants to play just PM me and i’ll add u to friends list. Lets get a tnation clan going

Just installed SCII…

For those of you haven’t bought SCII yet, or have not received it… I have a few guest passes for trial on BNET, PM me if you need em.

@anonymity, I would enjoy some 2vs2 with you sometime tonight or this week…

To bad we’re not able to add clan tag to our names… [TEST] is a good tag.

I’m gonna game-out tonight around 8:30 est if people are interested in joining,

I’ll be on tonight as well, send me a PM for character name and #

Alright so…apparently everyone is amazing at this game. I played for a good 4 hours tonight and everyone seems to know exactly what they are doing…and this was just in placement matches.

Also this game is still buggy as hell. About 50% of the game I enter I never got to play because i get stuck on the loading screen of the server connection times out.

You need to remember that the majority of people that are going to be on mp early are going to be ‘competitive’ type players, because everyone else is going to enjoy the campaign first. That’s a slight generalization but it’s true enough.

The campaign btw, is really really solid, I could say the ending was meh, but the lead up was still fantastic so no complaints really, an I am now very much looking forward to the Protoss ‘chapter’ after playing through this though(I think Protoss is scheduled to be last?).

I probably won’t play online in any competitive sense until I upgrade my PC, I get like 5 second ‘lockups’ every now and then that feels like a sort of graphical buffering going on, and if I were trying to take my experience very seriously it would really make me mad. I do want to achievement whore though(=p) and the majority of them are just ‘win x matches as y in z mode’ so it’s unavoidable.

Does anyone know if they’re going to charge $60 for the Protoss and Zerg expansion packs too? That’d be some serious bullshit and could well dissuade me from getting SC2 at all.

I will be purchasing my copy on Saturday, making sure to close out this month strong work wise. I cannot wait to get cranking online with the T-Nation crew, my inner nerd is amped.

Anybody find any good build order data sheets online yet?

Did you pay for brood war(well you didn’t if you copied it), did you pay for halo 2/3? How about any sequel to a game? Have you ever seen a sequel to a movie? Did you pay for that? Yes? Then why the fuck would you think they would give 2 games away for free?

Corporate America FTW!

Maybe because that’s what we’re used to based on the first Starcraft. Terran, Zerg, and Protoss campaigns all out of the box. Also, with something like Starcraft, making additional levels and campaigns isn’t as big of a drain on resources as a good chunk of the assets are already created including the Battle.net and the multiplayer aspect. Top that off with the fact that Brood War was NOT $60 when it was released, and you’d be a dumbass sucker to be satisfied paying full game price for what we’re used to having included in our game out of the box.

But yeah, keep up the consumer complacency and hopefully they’ll find new ways to get more money out of us.

You won’t need them. The post-game stats are so in-depth you can basically see everything everyone was doing just by looking at the numbers. It’s actually a big strength of the game so far.
